You can use PPC ad networks to get instant and huge amount of visitors. SEO is a time taking task and you have to do a lot of things to get ranking in search engine result pages.

Absolutely. If you are going to go seo, you may need a sizable budget....
and I am not talking about those $5 gigs either; If you want to take your
site seriously, then you need to jump up it up the big boys, where link
building can cost you $100-$300+ for a single high authority link....
and a single link would be worth 1000's of low quality links....

If fiver is your seo plan due to budget....
then your seo plan has already failed....

That's absolutely right! Quality wins over the Quantity! Always focus on building the quality backlinks from the high authority sites which are relevant to your niche.

    They are out there.

    Here is one:

    https://www.gotchseo.com/blogger-outreach-service/

You have to remember, this is not $5 links; This type of quality
link building is fairly expensive, and backlinks can take a long time to start
doing what they are meant to do; So it is very important that you
are in a profitable niche, and you have done your keyword research...
otherwise, no matter how many expensive links you buy, you still fail.

when its comes to boosting traffic to your website instantly in a short period of time the ppc or other ads are the best way..
but if you want to build a sustainable business online for a long term than seo is the best way..but it takes time and work

If your budget allows you, you won't have a hard time getting " traffic " from PPC but I am talking about $50K+ and if you do it on your own without any experience, then at least $100K to get "quality traffic" from Adwords, Bing and Facebook.

For Fast and Short Term traffic, you can try Google Adwords, Bing Ads, Facebook Ads, StumbleUpon advertising, reddit ads, etc..

However, all the traffic options above cost some money. If you have a great budget, you may consider the options above.

For low-cost traffic like $5 Gig traffic, autosuft, traffic exchange program, all are not genuine and low Quality traffic.

using social media to boost traffic is fast and easy. set up profiles with the search terms you want found in your descriptions, then start populating with regular content - also using your search terms in the posts. Don't discount the power of google + the pictures get a lot of traffic.

    Two points:
1- This forum is full of great ideas ... many relating to free traffic & relatively fast. Here is an active one:
Gerhard has a great list of 20 items here & Helen has a great link to good list https://forums.digitalpoint.com/threads/how-to-get-a-lot-of-free-traffic.2773649/

2- In any situation in life, including getting website traffic, you can have any two of these three things at the expense of the other one:
Low cost, high quality, high speed.

I'd say regarding traffic, it must be high quality or it is useless to you. Therefore, you are stuck with choosing between low cost/free or high speed (but costly).

less for him, more for them. He gets nothing, and google gets it all..
and you certainly should not use PPC unless you are experienced....

Social media is 100% hype! The avg joe using social media only have meager followers...
In order for social media to be effective, then you really need something that no one
has seen before, or you need a ton of followers; What you are actually doing is
sending random traffic to your site, and that will increase your bounce rate....
and having high bounce rate could be bad for your site. Social media is great to show
google that you are active and all, however, I suspect bounce will be high, and conversions will be low...

anything you get for free tends to be low quality, and mostly does not convert...

I think PPC is a waste of money, simply because, once you stop, then your site dies...
If you are willing to invest in PPC, instead use that money to buy high quality content...
Post, Post, Post it..content, graphics, videos, etc...if you are lucky, maybe you will
start to see something in the next 6-12months, however, you need to start posting
lots of content on your site. 1 article here or there is not going to help you...
Your content marketing campaign needs to be aggressive, at least in the beginning.

How do you get experience if you never try! The correct action - if his business type warrants it - is to learn, take baby steps and gain experience before scaling up. AND NOT give up before he gets started ... Assuming PPC is suitable for his site.

PPC is by far the most reliable, most targetable, fastest and (reliably) most scalable way of getting a lot of traffic. The OP asked for "a lot of traffic in the short term".

Who wants to be average at anything! Whoever suggested one should just do "an okay" job of it and become the envy of the world by achieving the "average joe" status!

You clearly do not know of a whole bunch of people who generate huge amounts of targeted traffic from Social Media. Google: Joel Comm, Ken McArthur, Lori Ruff .. and then Google their friends and see for yourself.

How do you get a lot of followers, if you stay on the sidelines, never engage your target market on social media and never get involved in the community!?

Every large following started with "1" follower ... it does not get more meager than "1" does it! If social media is suitable for the target market, then nobody should be afraid of getting started as long as they learn, apply, evaluate, adjust and improve with every step.

Really! Google page 1 for a specific buying phrases, low quality!?

Your own well-cultivated and 'focused' mailing list, that you have built by giving away valuable info, does not convert!?

Your YouTube subscribers who lap up every video you release ... waste of time!?

This time you are referring to my post. Thank you for misleading the readers by taking it out of context.

I do grant it that there is no such thing as free traffic. Even if you don't pay out cash, you spend precious time, and much more of it, generating the traffic. However, with that in mind, people refer to free traffic meaning they do not pay out cash. Some people are 'relatively' time rich and cash poor.

But 'free traffic' does not have to mean poor quality. Again if you aim to be an "average joe" yes it may well be poor quality. But if you do it properly then no absolutely not.

The traffic you talk about does not convert ... not because it is free (in the context I mentioned) but rather because the person generating it has not educated himself in generating "quality, targeted, free traffic" and perhaps is not committed to analysing and improving.

But one thing is certain: They will never learn if they never get an education, never plan, never test and never tweak.

THAT is your most incorrect and therefore objectionable statement. You are totally misleading the reader. The correct situation is that PPC suits some businesses and not others.

You 'almost' could say the same thing about about a restaurant dropping flyers into local homes or doing special offers and discount coupons. Should they stop their promotions too!?

If you have a product store, while you can and should consider other traffic methods, you should also consider PPC. When selling products, you are not generating traffic to build a following for the future. You are trying to get "buyer" traffic.

As long as you get a reasonable return on your costs (traffic + total cost of product fulfillment) then you ought to do it all day everyday ... bearing in mind PPC is (mostly) scalable.

Now, after selling and doing a great job of customer experience/service ... then you can look forward to mailing/app-ing/connecting with your customers to keep them engaged and coming back for repeat business ... thus increasing your sales and reducing your traffic cost over the "lifetime of the customer".

Who cares if the traffic stops if you stop paying. Why would you stop a service that is generating you good business!

Now sir, have you any positive contribution to this conversation?

Start with the easy part and create social media profiles. Analyze your target audience and see if you can find them in this medium or if they are active on particular social media. Post content relevant to them and on a regular basis and engage with them through comments and by responding to their questions.

You should also think about starting a blog where you write about your product, projects and your business. This gives you another possibility to grow a community where you can engage with your audience. Moreover, think about submitting your blog or content from your blog on different syndication websites where other people can find it. On these platforms, you have free access or need to pay to perform certain actions.

Forums are another choice from where you can get traffic. Comment, post information or provide answers to the people who are looking for them. Not will this help you engage with new potential users, but it will also give you the opportunity to recommend them your website.
