Is Getting a like the Hardest Thing On Digital Point forum?

I'm a newbie and I am trying to post some of my mistakes I have made to help others, but no likes yet.

I am also trying to be as helpful as I can, but my knowledge isn't as good as many members on here.

 

Dont be so hard on yourself. You'll be an established member too!! I'd suggest that you start posting on topics you think you can actually contribute to rather some random posts. Good luck!!

 

there is an old saying in china , u get fragrance in ur hands when u give others roses. which means helping others is also improving ourselves.
'like' is just a small support others show to us. its not a bad thing anyway.

 

I hate DP like rules ..

Even if you hate the 'likes' rule, you've to put up with it. It'll NOT be changed just because you don't like it. It's not something DP has implemented on a whim, but there's a purpose to it, which is to check and reduce spam.

BTW, the no. of 'likes' you get or have hasn't got much to do with how long you've been here or how many posts you've made. If you've really made useful and informative posts and helped others, you're sure to get the 'likes'. Check the no. of 'likes' these posters have despite the date they joined or the no. of posts they've made till now -

And why are you grumbling? You just need one more 'like', that's all. In fact, by complaining, you're laying yourself more on the line and making things more difficult for yourself! I've seen users grumbling about the 'likes' system either get banned or never/rarely get a 'like'.

 

If you "like" to get likes you must like to contribute.

Yea that third like seems to linger doesn't it..... Ive been thanked tonnes of times but people just don't dish out the likes.

BULLSHIT. Anyone who gets "offended" probably NEEDS to be offended and IMHO can Sierra Tango Foxtrot Uniform or Golf Tango Foxtrot Oscar.

It's actually a great way to filter out the namby pamby wussies who probably have no business doing serious work in the first place.

Not hating, just saying some people put the effort in and just don't get the likes.

 

Likes are important especially if you want to build good reputation here. The more likes you have the more likely that people will perceive your opinions worthy. Without likes you are limited to just posting in general areas I guess and (correct me if I’m wrong) you can create BST thread. I might be wrong as I forgot the rules in BST anymore but technically having at least 3 likes can make your life easier here in DP.

It seems to me it's easier to get likes in this General Chat section.

Otherwise, people appreciate remarkable, helpful or well thought-out and in-depth posts.

 

Back on DP after not needing to use the site for a long period of time. There are so many changes, and I totally forgot about the Like thing and not being able to post without them. I stopped using DP right after that change was made, not because of that but because I wasn't selling anymore. Hoping to get over this weird Like hump soonish because I have been a member of this forum for so long.

 

I finally got three likes and was all happy only to realise they need to all be from different people (2 were from the same person).

 

why is there no dislike here in DP by the way?

Shawn had already replied to the thread. Anyway, as a forum administrator myself, i might not want to add "dislike button" too for it will somehow create flame to members.
