COl, you should shame if you really did that! but SHAWN its really horrible punishment. 3 months  definitely he will loose his business from DP.

Christmas is near now, and you should minimize his punishment :) as all people know you are cool guy!

If you have just follow the thread, not 3 months instead his account will be reactivated tomorrow because Shawn is on good mood as of the moment. ;)
Instead of 10 infraction he reduced it into 8 so that when the other two expired tomorrow his account will be reactivated tomorrow.

    Hmmm ... an interesting situation.

Rather sneaky with the red reps being dished out by the banned member with the clear intention of stirring up trouble and pretty dumb to try to BS his way out of it.

However, Shawn has decided to give him a second chance but on a very tight leash - leaving him with 8 infraction points that will carry through till March 2007. So the ball is in the court of CheapSEOServices - best behaviour or banned.

    Seems fair.

If you rely on a forum for a lot of your business then you don't abuse it or the members there - that is just common sense!

An otherwise helpful and apparently well respected member of the forum pulled a stupid stunt then tried to lie his way out of it. I think that the "apology" was less sincere regret than a last ditch effort to get back what was rightfully taken away, but I can't say I've never been in a similar situation before. I think Shawn did the right thing and I'm willing to bet that Cheap SEO Services will think twice before pulling anything like this again and will be on his best behavior for the next few months at least. If the lesson is learned then the infractions and ban have served their purpose.

So? That makes it all the more stupid to abuse the sytem you rely on. If you rely on your lungs to breathe would you go temper with them?

Ask your money back. Members ultimately don't control their signatures and when they're silly enough to get banned you should have means to contact them outside of DP and demand money back.

It's an excuse I can not sympathize with - only makes the deed more stupid IMO.

I hope Col realizes this and gets on his knees to those he sold sig space to.

Not when it's your business. Plain unprofessional IMO.

Totally agree. You just don't mess with what you rely on. He's damn lucky Shawn was in a good mood. I don't see the point of 'let him off the hook, he's a seasoned member' - I see it as 'he should know far better because he is a seasoned member'.

    Lesson learned, one would hope.

Had some good dialogues with him in the SEO forum yesterday so in a way glad he's back.

LOng ban? How about September 2008 on namepros and December 2099 on WHT.

Come on! 4-5 months bannage is nothing compared to what i have had on WHT and namepros.

I was banned on namepros for flaming a senior member AFTER they flamed me, and they got off scot-free.

I was banned on WHT for not answering to an email, because i failed to change my email address. They banned me for life...

At least he was banned for a genuine reason and not the monkey crap which got me banned. Bloody hell, i dunno why i bothered replying, because being banned for 6months is nothing compared to my bannage of 95 years..

Wow his worst infraction there is definetly lying about things. Funny how people think they can get away with things, nothing in the internet is ever anonymous, they should know that. But good for him shawn was in a good mood, welcome back then ;)

His red spam is uncalled for, so I have mixed feelings about it.
That same thread caused me to "unsubscribe", so I'd quit seeing it in my User CP.
Kinda' ironic we have a "red spammer", spamming a black hat spammer thread. :p
