just after I read this thread Importance of anchor textdf It strike to my mind and I tested it.

The fact is how much important an anchor text can be, and the illustration must be very practical.
This guy however typed nothing in the post but the link to his blog article, I am sharing it here only.

When you type Under 18? Exit Here or Leave Here or I am under 18 in search engines ( I used google here ) which websites you think must popup in the first few results?
Yes, you got it correctly. I guessed that it must be google and yahoo for sure, before I tested it actually, and here are the results.





Now if you are thinking that major search engines have these keywords hidden in their home page, you are going completely wrong.
Then what is the matter? If you are still puzzled ( however I would not expect this from most of the people ) I will explain this.

Think about where do you find these keywords? Yes, Correct. Think about Adult websites which have an enter here and exit here links for majors and minors respectively ( however i dont think that minors ever click the leave here link. )
So the porn websites must rank for these keywords? but which one there are a lot of them.
But there is one fact common in all of them.
Yes,
They all link to themselves for enter here ( and thus increasing competetion for this keyword ) and they all link to a search engine like google or yahoo or msn for leave here
So?
Google/Yahoo get a lots of backlinks for this keyword. The keyword is in anchor text of backlink. No matter it is not in the Google ( or Yahoo or MSN ) itself.

Yes, that's a well-known fact. It's all about the static weight and the dynamic weight of a link. Here it's about the dynamic weight - several years ago you could take any big, well-known site and place tons of very weak PR0 links (directories, social networks etc.) and that big site would rank for your keyword.

Once in Ukraine they made the web-site of the former Prime Minister rank #1 for the "country is f*cked up" keyword and Google even placed an AdSense ad directly in the SERPs stating that Google can't have impact on such rankings due to its complex algorithm and thus can't remove that site from the TOP-1.

As far as I am concerned they have altered the algorithm since that time and now it's much harder to push up a site using sole backlinks.

Nice post. There used to be a lot more examples of these before google tweaked their algorithm, if you used to type miserable failure it would point to Bush's biography.

Yes, I believe that mere backlinks would not lead you far above with today's algorithms. If it was like that, Google and Yahoo must be guaranteed top 2 for the above mentioned terms.

I;m kind of new at these so i'm sorry if some of my questions are stupid but how can we use these back links to our advantage?

 

It just shows the power of having backlinks. Google and Yahoo websites even do not contain these keywords but still rank for them just because of backlinks alone they get from adult websites.

PS. And by the way, this thread of Digital Point Forum has now started to rank for the keyword Under 18 Exit Here in google results.
I currently see it at number 10 on first page but no wonder if it soon ranks at number 1 itself.

lol o the world of backlinks is a mighty thing.

 

This forum's posts tend to rank well for many things. Google seems to find them in minutes.

 

the google bomb was a very similiar thing, then google tweaked the algorythm and it went, clearly there are still remnants of it remaining though

 

Google Bomb I found to be a lot of work for not much of anything. I can understand the concept and how it would work for a lot of people, but like anything, if its not automated no one wants to bother with it for that long, especially when you need to login time and time again to sites just to paste some text.
