Hi guys. Have another question. Is the domain name extension (.com/.net/.org/.info/.biz/) important in seo ?
i don't think so because I have a .biz that is really getting some good traffic from SERP. Just do your SEO daily.
Hello, It really depends on what you are aiming for. In case you're just asking if google weights one extension more than other, then the answer is no. However, if your site has a country specific extension and you're aiming to get visitors from that country mainly, the extension might help google understand what you want.
There is a thread about it 2 below this one http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1099254 Cheers James
extensions are important for SEO. Lets say you have a.in which is a country specific tld; you will naturally rank better for country searches rather then global. Other then those .com .net .org .info etc does not really make any difference.
Yeah in my opinion, only if you need to target a specific country or domain extension is a keyword in itself, you need to choose a particular extension. Otherwise all are equal
I have read on search engine article, the domain name extension is one of the factor that you should consider for seo. If the .com version still available try to get it. Because some people still think that web address on internet will be end with .com. And .com is still my favorite. Yes, if you want to aiming for local you'd better your local extension. IMO, if you do well on marketing your site, more people will know about your site (no matter what extension you have).
I actually wonder about this myself. I've heared from sevelar sources that .info domains does not rank so good in google as .coms. Can anyone confirm this?
.net, .org, .com, .gov, .edu, .info.. are treated equal by search engines. Extension does not matter... Content does. Cheers James
Extension matters if you are targeting a specific country then take extension with of country it will help in ranking.
