Is that matter if your website is .ORG and not .COM?

    Dear Experts,

I was wondering if Google give importance to .COM domains more than .ORG in ranking results specially when your domain name is the keyword itself.

I have noticed that it is very easier to rank first or among few of top 5 if your domain is exactly the keyword. However as everyone knows that .COM domains are hard to be found available but their .NET or .ORG versions are easily found available. Will it matter if you register .ORG domain with the keyword itself the whole domain name?

    Thanks

Well i don't think so, That .com, .org makes a difference....

It just defines your site in a particular niche:

    .com - commercial sites
    .org- organizations

Ya if you go for a region specific domain... like "dotus" then i think it will rank you higher in the specific region like in that case United States.

It all about how you optimize your site. For me, I still prefer going a for domain name that contains the keyword that I want and the tld comes next.

No the tld doesn't make a difference. Google used to give .org an authority status but it doesn't seem like they do anymore.

It does not matter in terms of SEO etc... .org is just typically reserved for folks who are actually an organization of some sort. It has no bearing on anything else what so ever.

    hope that helps.

I don't think it matters to SEs. But it may affect the impression of your site by the visitors.

Any TLD can be indexed high in search engine rankings, there are no special preference to any particular TLD.

I'm not sure in what perspective youre talking about here. But I do remember in parking domain business, .com seems to convert better than the others.

No google doesn t care it. SE is focusing off page4 optimizatioin and on page too but not including domain name on it. I saw many .org in good position than their .com competitor.

Domain extension is not matter to SERPs, you can register any extension. But you think about target locally or geographically like UK market, Germany market, the domain extension is important.

TLD doesn't matter. Google gives equal importance to all the different domain extensions.

The depends mainly on geographical location, ofcourse .com is always good for seo purposes and for commercial purpose (as any site prefers to be commerceial), and .org is for organization purpose which makes useful information about social service information.

It does not matter if the domain is .com .org or .info . Build quality back links, thats the only way to rank higher !

I agree with everybody that said the tlds aren't that important for SEO. But as I have been in business for a very long time I have noticed that when I tell a customer on the phone, to visit my .net or .info websites they almost always end up putting .com instead because that's what people expect.

So if at all possible I recommend getting the .com tld!

For SEO , I don't see the difference from .org .com (I have both) but for business , ppl. might think .com is better especially when your business is not only for SEO but all website services.

Only matters if it has country extension, for the ranking on google of the same country, for example .com vs .biz has no effect on google.com, but .co.uk is likley to rank better in google.co.uk and on google.com might just not rank at all. if you have a website that's .com, it will rank good on google.com but badly on other google sites, if u have same domain with .co.uk, it will rank much easier on google.co.uk

I think from a run-of-the-mill-user browsing the internet and finding your site the .com has much more staying power in their memory (if your site has a reason to be remembered in the first place that is). Most people who are not so internet savvy are going to remember your domain as a .com if anything at all. In my opinon anyway.
Though this has little to do with google results, I think of it as all the more reason to go for the .com domain if it is available in some form or another.

As far as i am concerned it just dont make any difference, a domain is a domain and a website is judged by its pages and not by name, regarding having keywords in domains, yes of course it does make a difference, but then that is only one ranking factor and you can compensate this by adding more punch in other aspects of SEO
