Hi, Made this poll to know how is it going for you all. What's the best way? 1. Rotation of colors 2. Rotation of colors + blends 3. Blend it with the same text as the website without border 4. Using those fancy borders Adsense gives 5. Using Blue Title and Black URL 6. Using Red Title and Black URL 7. I have another method for better performance
#3, blending is the only technique there that I have actually seen help CTR. If you have a lot of return visitors changing the ad color/format can be helpful, but otherwise I wouldn't bother.
I disagree. Sometimes making your ad STAND OUT is proven to increase CTR more than blending it. However the color palette should fit. Don't make it ugly. Question about #6. Why should using red title and black URL help increase CTR? I hear this for the first time.
I have another method for better performance since nearly 2 years across the site a totally different from above scheme and a 50+k$/yr show that its successful for me - more than most (all?) other schemes used by others.
Option number 3 works best for me. Usually once I find out the best ads placement which generates high ctr, I'll stick to it.
I belief someone wanted me to share details 1. already here - long time ago http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=228283 http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=237454 http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=178570 2. and visible across my site - see signature links all site ONE configuration for layout, colors and basic placement
look at the 3 forum threads I posted here earlier it's all there ! low season in the high 1 digit peak season in the 2 digits
My method is to not worry about simple things like these and write lots and lots and lots and lots of content.
Simple things like these can make a difference between earning $5000 or earning $8000. You don't mind an extra $3000? Sometimes all it takes is an above the fold testimonial and you can increase sales for up to 30%. Spend a little time at marketing experiments journal. Every pixel of your website counts. From font color to guarantee badge, from testimonials to confirming your visitors most anxious question (every market has a few questions they need answered most, before they make a purchase). The way you optimize your design can make a difference between normal life and wealthy life. P.S. To the OP: I still don't know the answer to nr #6. Why should using red title and black URL help increase CTR?
