We have discussed mostly all of this, but I have gathered them together and given a solution to it, It really sucks when your paypal gets limited, read below for avoiding them.. Reasons: Withdrawal Amount i.e Transferring huge amount of money in your bank/credit card or ordering a check with only $0 remaining Using proxies and unsupported IP's of other places Many disputes/chargebacks and claims Amount received from suspicious persons Adding debit/credit cards which are not safe for use like VCC's Types of goods being sold in subject line Sending Payment and disputing it many times Many unauthorized claims If you login from blacklisted IP Addresses If you login from same IP in many accounts.. How to avoid Limitations: If you have multiple accounts, try logging in from different IP address Clear your browser cookies Dont send big amount of money all of a sudden dont move money from your 1st account to second and 2nd account to first Don't add many CC's and Banks and remove them after verification If paypal is not there in your country, try using an alternative instead of making a paypal account with other countries name PayPal checks how much money you are transferring to the banks and credit cards, if you are not withdrawing much, they might suspect you Do not withdraw whole amount of money and keep a balance of 0$, try keeping atleast $100-$150 in the account and withdraw the rest Don't recieve money from people whom you think are fishy Try recieving money from Verified users Don't keep changing your profile details every now and then.. I hope these tips might prevent your PayPal limitation, I hope this helps.. I have been using paypal from 2 years, this is what is my experience, if you get any new ideas, do share with us Thanks, esidyo
I am wondering about the reason "Withdrawal Amount" And bro thanks for the TIPS, thread bookmark and green added...
thanks for that information esidyo. i would like my account to be safe in Paypal and not get a $0 amount without even knowing it.
Check Point #4 of reasons, anyways, I have replied to your thread, hope that helps It means, transferring the amount to your bank all of a sudden with keeping only $0 in the account
Perhaps you could add on the following reasons :- 1) Using a Personal Account to Receive Money from Sales of Goods or Services 2) Do not provide proper sales documentation such as Invoices/Receipts 3) Use 'Send Money' instead of the Merchant Features such as 'Buy Now' Button, Subscription, Request Money or Email Invoice services. 4) Sign up for a paypal account using fake details such as name, address or country 5) Being underaged (under 18 years old) and signing up for a Paypal account 6) Sign up for a new account when old one is limited.
The point which is in bold, is not true actually, it works, that is not a problem unless the BUY NOW button in the site is used by frauds. Anyways thanks, people will know more
I know people do use the 'Send Money' and the money gets through however it is not the right way of doing business with. But you see time and time again, people's account got limited and Paypal asked for Invoices and Proof of Delivery with this option. If you however use the Buy Now button, Subscription, Request Money or Email Invoice method, as a Seller, you can state down exactly what you are selling to the description. I use this method and Paypal never questioned me on what I sold or asked for Invoices. The 'Send Money' method is typically to be used for sending money to friends or family, on a non-commercial term as sales documents are not needed. How many people got screwed and dispute raised from this method ? Probably a lot from the looks of things here.
I had $200 reserved for paying someone online when got account limited, Paypal's working model is very confused, at the end of day they dont have serious excuse of keeping money of their users for 180 days. I dont understand why an account get limited if someone works on it from office and Home (from two different ips) I guess Paypal will continue doing all this nonsense until a big number of people from ebay, webmaster community stop transacting online with Paypal I have long time ago diverted to bank wire transfer with having account limitation and loss of $600 in total with Paypal
The reason why paypal holds your money for 180 days is not because of any other reasons than to protect them from a chargeback by your customer. As you should be well aware, Banks offers Credit Cards to their Customers and one of the protection the credit card holders are offered is the ability to launch a Chargeback against irresponsible merchants who do not deliver. The Window period that the cardholder can raise a chargeback is 180 days from the time of purchase. So Paypal holds the money for that period and after which when the Window closes, they allow you to withdraw the money as by which time, the cardholder loses the ability to request for a chargeback. Read your credit card terms and conditions so that you are aware of what you can or cannot do. There is no reason why your account should be limited if you access it from both your office and home because that is what most people do. However, that is assuming that you do not access the account almost immediately or at the same time at the both location. The time frame must be reasonable between accessing one account to another because for the most time, you need to travel from the one location to another. Besides, if your account get limited for this reason, you just submit the documents to prove that it is really you and the limitation would be lifted almost immediately. It is really for the account holder protection as they do not want them to be stolen or used by any one other than the account holder exclusively.
Thank YOu for the info. It's really useful. I would also add the following into the reasons part: 1. Sending money through credit card and NOT giving comments for waht you are paying. 2. Bad communication with paypal support. Sometimes they ask tricky questions so you don't know what to answer. For instance, what was the exact amount of your last 2 transactions? What if you don't remember it and don't have an access to your lap top?
VCC's can be useful to verify paypal (only for verification!), ofcourse if you know how to use it wisely..
