please see this thread to read more is Islam and christianity really laid to rest as posted by this guy by showing a video ? http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=879340
It is just a video as in You Tube, frankly I don't even bother to watch it. Basing on a video, you are asking if Christianity and Islam being laid to rest?
Those who do not want to believe in any given facts will continue to believe what they wish to believe regardless of content. This info isn't anything new, it's been long known by anyone who wishes to know that the religions around today mimic those of the past.
I don't see the need to open a new thread for this as you can just continue the discussion on the other thread.
Just excerps from Zeitgeist, nothing about Islam there so I don't know why ezguy made this thread lol
Ahh but even Islam is based 'from what i know' off of items listed in the video = Islam being based off of previous ancient religions as well. I however agree that there is no need for this thread.
The Hebrew Prophets had given the World the fundamental values, without which Mankind would slip into chaos. But the Jews wanted to keep these values to themselves. Then came Jesus and spread the values of the Hebrew Prophets among the non-Jews. The Christians have greatly benefited from the values of the Hebrew Prophets, but they wrapped them up into myths of a man-shaped God, who has a wife and a son. And to reconcile this myth with the concept of One God of the Hebrew Prophets, they invented the myth of the Trinity ("One in Three and Three in One"). Then came the Prophet Muhammad. He accepted the values of the Hebrew Prophets and Jesus, but rejected the Trinitarian Doctrine and re-affirmed the Oneness of God. But the Jews still wanted to keep the teachings of their ancient prophets all to themselves. And the Christians still wanted to keep their Trinitarian Doctrine. Muslims do believe in moses and jesus as prophets, we believe also that their teachings have been changed, even jews and christians, many of them do not believe that all these versions of bibles are God's word You can read some good articles here and here While Islam is not based off Judaism or Christianity, they share the same values because they are from the same source, God. If you have any more questions or anything i'll be happy to answer, education is the key to peace for all of us!
Exactly, if any part of it, ESPECIALLY Jesus is in anyway apart of the muslim belief then by any logic it is based off of ancient religions that predate most any religion that is currently around today.
Taking an old religion as a base it means agreeing with it, then add to it, and come with something new like saying God has a son and a daughter, but this was not the case, it did not come as a development of Christianity or Judaism but came as correcting the changes that been made on the original message, which says that God the creator is one, so its going back to the old ancient belief of Abraham and all the other previous prophets, and it has not been effected with the beliefs that been there when it was revealed, there were idols, there were many Gods, with different names and images and shapes, it did not effect Islam, and add or change in it so it become more acceptable to the people at that time.
No matter how you want to word it, if any little bit, even a shred of Christianity aka Jesus or any of the 'prophets' any of the bible, anything is in your religion, then your religion in fact is based off of religions much, much older than Christianity as it in itself is based off of religions that are much, much older. That is pretty basic facts that anyone should know, religious or not.....
and the much much older religions were based on what? and the religions that been based on worshiping the sun, and the moon, or the Pharaoh, what happened to them? why they were not the base of Judaism or Christianity? what I am saying is that these three religions were based on the teachings that been taught by prophets, who been sent by God, some of these teachings been lost, and some been changed, if we were to say that one is based on the other, then we will need more than just repeating what is being told and heard, and do some effort in learning what each has in common and what they differ in, if Jesus is mentioned in Islam means that Islam is based on Christianity then why Jesus is mentioned in different way than it is in Christianity? the line should not be in the opposite direction but in accordance.
and Judaism was based off of Pharaoh worship? why not say the opposite, that sun worship was based on the idea of worshiping, of the existence of one God, but later people wanted to see God so they thought its the sun?
I have read many, many, many articles, books on the subject in the past. Those who want to believe in religion will not believe it, they will easily jump to 'it was made up' that however does not make it so.
