Some newbies (sometimes experienced users too) - rep me while they want to +rep me(according to their comments).Look at screen shot(removed +reps) : It's just like pain in the neck to help people and getting - rep. I got many -reps before for just helping others .I've never got - reps really for bad posts.Do you experience this problem too?
it is not negative rep.As they are newbies thats why you are getting grey reputation.it does not mean positive or negative.It means neutral.
These are either reps from new members or reps on forums that do not support greens/reds... like the General Chat forum...lol

Who says that DP doesn't have any -Rep criteria, lol.Obviously, DP has -rep, if some one gives you -rep, you will receive it, lol! I don't know... I have 5 reps for two posts here in GC and one of them is green the rest are gray. I don't understand why one of them would be green? Maybe because the user who gave me the rep had a high post count?
The user from whom you received GREEN rep in GC must be a well reputed member along with a high post count.

Try to not talk about green/red reputation here on DP you will be amazed how many people will hunt you ... they just saw that you care of reputation ,and they will make `u feel sick , because they know it's hurt...
