    Those people are no different then regular thieves. If they go to jail, warez website owners should also go to jail.

    I think they consider the profits as well as other factors, if it is very profitable, the fines may be useless as these people can pay up easily, so they implement jail time, but 30 months is quite a long jail sentence. Poor guy. Maybe for first timer they should just let him go off with a fine.

    Your post is funny, I guess your not downloading warez? your just wasting your money?
    Do you realize how much money you would have to spend for buying everything thats not legal? games, programs, music (not everyone wants to buy the full CD just to listen to one song) Buying those stuff legally from the shop is for rich people.

    But alot of these warez boards link to rapidshare, rapidshare is not illegal, so effectively your linking to something thats not illegal so i dont understand what the issue is?
