Hi guys, I always have a problem with getting traffics into my site. And on top of that, my CTR is hardly reaching 2%. Do you have any tips on how to increase the CTR to like 5% or so? I am desperate..
Optimize ads placements. 2% is not bad. You will see many people on this forum with less then 2% CTR. All you need is more and more traffic as traffic= $$$
Getting Traffic: You can always get traffic from the original content and proper placement of those contents in different places. CTR can be increased from ads placements. One of my friend is having a CTR of around 20%. Some time I doubt getting more CTR is good or bad?
To increase the CTR, place the ads at vantage points and blend them with the contents. The more number visitors clicking your ads among the total number of visitors will definitely boost the CTR. Getting more traffic will give you more income by way of more clicks but on a percentage basis, if you want to increase CTR, ad placement and blending are the two most important factors you have to take care of
The general tips to increase CTR is to blend the ads well with the site background, and put the ads above the main fold of content. Tips here.
CTR is site dependant to be honest, it is sometimes why having a bad site is better. My site has a high bounce rate but a high return visitor rate because I have useful information, the problem with that is return vistors become ad blind, and if they are interested in what they are currently reading they will skip past ads. The upside of a good site is you get a huge amount of organic link throughs, and tend to get better search SERPS To be honest the biggest thing that increased my click through rate was to insert a box ad at the top right of each post integrated into the text, these babies are eaily the best since they hardly ever suffer from ad blindness, you cant help but look at them!
Post your link so that we can give you precise information. Most of the time CTR can be increased by better placement, blending tehcniques, and more ad units.
we had excellent threads with precise help see http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=228283 http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=237454 http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=178570
2% CTR is OK. You should focus on getting more traffic in my opinion. If your site is providing useful information and your users are not under 13, getting a CTR higher than 2% would be difficult.
I've just done an experiment (yes, one) And the CTR raises to 4.29%. Hurrah! Now, I'm going to read all of your tips first. Be back later. Thanks for all the responses
