Hi, I am looking for a logo and banner for a football (soccer) forum I am launching soon. Here is how I will split the prize money: You can either get $40 for just a logo or $70 in total for a logo and banner. If you want to submit just a logo, that is ok too. The reason I want a separate logo is that I want to use it for shirt designs, memorabilia etc. Payment via: Paypal Forum url: nonstopfootball.com Forum Name: Non Stop Football Logo slogan: The #1 Football Forum On The Web Deadline: 18th February 2008 For the logo itself, I want something modern yet simple. Examples of logos that look nice to me are here: http://web.mlsnet.com/index.jsp http://ussoccer.com/ http://www.footballcorner.eu/ http://www.footballforum.com/pittsburgh-steelers/ http://www.fflcommish.com/ For the overall banner look, I like the designs done by zeniusvanisher and coolwanz here: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=588923 If it helps with choosing the color scheme, the forum will have a green grass side background, while the center background will be of a light color like at : http://www.footballforum.com Feel free to let your creative juices flow on this one. I will post feedback as people post their submissions. If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask. Cheers John
Yep, soccer definitely. I wrote it in the title, but forgot to mention it in the text of the post. Thanks for that. I have updated the post now.
Hi cykill, Thanks for the attempt. Unfortunately, it is too plain. The football is a stock item, and the font is not serious. I am looking for a more professional design.
Hi Kwiloo, Thanks for the attempt. Once again, the standard is somewhat below what I am looking for. For more of a guide for the style I am looking for check out the logos of the websites I posted in the original thread post above: http://web.mlsnet.com/index.jsp http://ussoccer.com/ http://www.footballcorner.eu/ http://www.footballforum.com/pittsburgh-steelers/ http://www.fflcommish.com/ J
No, PSD is fine for now - they can still be scaled to an extent right? I can always contact the author later and request a vector drawing for an extra fee. J
Hi Rosey, You are going in the right direction. Here are my comments for the logo: I like the streaky part and the ball I don't like the font... I'd like to see something solid and block lettered, also there is no dot after nonstop The ball I'd like to look more high tech and perhaps abstract As for the banner: I don't like putting badges of arsenal and man utd... don't want to put off fans of other clubs. I'd like to see the logo in the left hand side of the banner the grassy thing looks ok, but I'd like to see perhaps abstracted fans or something like that Looking forward to other entries too. Thanks
Well here goes nothing...feedback apreciated. For now I used the color of the MLS logo but the background on the header can be changed to match your forums...
Hi Scarlet, Thanks for the entry, I like the font better then from the other entries... although I have seen even cooler fonts around. Perhaps an all CAPS combo would look better. Also, the slogan above, I'd like to see it below the main website name and it doesn't have to be in block letters. I'd like to see the ball and the fire behind it blend together better... although the idea of the ball and fire / trailing shape behind it is good. The way it looks now though, is like you plastered a ball and added the trail... they don't look like they are together. The who ball and fire effect have to go together with the website name better, I am not sure how, but they have to combine into one entity. If you look like the examples I have provided, some of them are badges, others are logos but in all cases when you look at the logo it is one entity which shows a lot of originality and looks good, contains the site name, slogna and perhaps a graphic which complements the site name ... but most importantly it combines into a logo. I like to be honest rather then lead people on. To be honest, I haven't been overly impressed with any of the entries so far. John
nicogarcia, This is more like the style I am after. Comments: Perhaps the actual site name could be in large font while the footballer would be smaller.... this way the logo would be slightly wider and slightly lower in height - perhaps the overall height of the text on the right would be the same as the overall height of the footballer on the left. Also, I have seen some much better fonts around. Here are some I like: See the first post by Tranzemaniac big block letters but still look stylish http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=6545081#post6545081 Also the font used by collegerut in this post if the letters were caps instead of small: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=691691 J
Hm, now the logo is a bit too wide... also perhaps you could space the bottom word "football" with less space... so that you can have the top words Non Stop together as NONSTOP... there shouldn't be so much space between the letters in any case. Also, the text should be closer to the footballer
