    Hey there,

Ive seen loads of forums, blogs, and internet websites complain about widgetbucks. It just keeps building up, and widgetbucks keeps getting worse and worse.

So i have wrote a short report on what is going on at widgetbucks...

    http://www.kedoa.com/blog/advertising/is-widgetbucks-a-scam/

Also, i would appreciate it if when you read the report, you could possibly vote at the topp on the left hand side named "Is widgetbucks a scam". Then i can get everyones views in.

Hi Andy, I made this post on another DP thread so figure I'll just drop it here as well. Those who believe WidgetBucks is a scam probably haven't received money yet. Fact is, having launched October 2, our first payments aren't due until mid December. However -- inside tip here -- it's looking like payments will get sent next week. Also, WidgetBucks is backed by Mpire, a real company that's been around since 2005 and is backed by real investors -- so we're not a fly-by-night or scam. Another tip, we’re coming out with an international CPM solution which should help some publishers in the next week -- we know that's been a real point of concern for many...and hey, we're listening. If you're making something for international traffic, it's perfect...
However, because the fact that you started banning publishers for low traffic quallity, non english sites etc, and the fact that you changed your TOS several times and banned publishers according to you new TOS makes you eligible for a SCAM...
And you banned lots of publishers that wasted time and money...

However, even as i wasn't sure, i trusted you with my adspace and sent you about 2.000.000 impresions...
Now i'll wait to see if i get paid... and then i'll post my verdict.

Searche, fact is, non-english sites were in our terms of service from the beginning. Any changes we made to our terms of service we indicated clearly through our blog or emails to our publisher base. Accounts were suspended b/c they did not meet our TOS and each received an email indicating why. Everyone. In some cases, we have reversed the decision after reviewing further. Regarding low quality traffic, the judgment was not that of WidgetBucks, it was the opinion of our merchants and advertisers when it came to international clicks. They don't want to pay for it, period. Ad-only sites, porn sites, click fraud and invalid domains are other reasons for suspensions, incidentally. Obviously you're upset with the situation -- and you have every right to your opinion. We totally respect that. Please understand that in the early going, we've had to make some adjustments as well. Is it perfect right now? Nope. Name me one that is. But are we listening and working toward a quality network? Absolutely. When you get paid next week, we hope you continue to use WidgetBucks going forward. Dean Jutilla, WidgetBucks

If you pay something for international customers, i'm in :D
    Even if it's 25c/CPM, it's good...

I'm looking forward working with you again...

One more thing: why not add more advertisers? There should be a lot of shops around that are concentrating on international or at least europeean traffic... the more the best, for you, and for the publishers...

Look at Widgetbucks.com home page. Do you see the word "suck"? Professionals will never use that word, especially in the home page. IMO they have to gut to suck your money.

I personally don't think they are a scam, too many people depend on them but will see in a few days when the first payments are due

I tried them and the CPM was not satisfying for me so I dropped them

you can also see a vote on them

i don't think they are a scam, you just have to have a website that actually gets traffic and gets niche traffic. It is like saying Chitika is a scam because you run a site about blogging and you are running Flat Panel television RPU on your blog. People are just trying to get rich quick without putting work and creativity into it

Ah, the same thing happened to me. Within the first day I joined I'd earned a couple dollars, the next day every single cent was gone. I made a post about how WidgetBucks is a scam on my blog, and Matt, the CEO of the company, commented several times.

He argued that WidgetBucks is a valid program and that payments will go out soon, and that money is only removed and accounts suspended for those who break the rules. I demanded to know what rule EVERYONE was breaking. He didn't give a very clear response. I said that whether or not WidgetBucks is a valid program, it is still suspicious and scam-like to handle a program this way - to remove money with no warning, stop accepting international clicks, etc. Even if WidgetBucks turns out to pay, it's still a scam to take people's earnings for no reason.

    This is my post: http://superbloggingtips.com/2007/11/widgetbucks-is-a-worthless-scam/

    Nice "company line" plug.

WidgetBucks is certainly a scam in my book. They are no better than Adsense in that they terminate accounts for vague reasons, refuse to pay money, block access to stats and do not return emails or phone calls.

When you guys start doing business like a real company, please let us know. Until that time I will contact every WidgetBucks advertiser and explain to them that I do not do business with thieves nor those that support thieves.

Fr0gman - obviously, you have strong feelings about WidgetBucks and feel very wronged. I'm sorry you feel that way. Please know that I am very open to you contacting me through a private message on this forum to discuss person-to-person -- or directly on my email at dean [at] mpire [dot] com. Be prepared to substantiate all your accusations. ;)
