They're absolutely worth a go. The fact they are part of Mpire, an online shopping company with a few years behind it, gives a little bit of assurance. Their rates ($25 sign up and about 30 cents per click) mean they can be a nice little earner.

As I've mentioned loads and loads of times no-one has been paid yet. No-one will be paid until mid December at the earliest. But I'm willing to take a punt on them because their ads are filling space that would otherwise be empty. Plus, when they do pay, it should be a nice Christmas bonus!

Yeah it looks like a cool company. I said "looks" because I haven't got a check yet, but I will soon so I will be able to say more about them.

I like the fact that they listen to the community. For instance their ads were really slow, and they made them faster before the bloggers start to write about it :)

I signed up to try them out and have gotten a few clicks. I'm happy with my income from other programs so I haven't put a whole lot of effort into WidgetBucks yet. I also have heard about various claims of them terminating your account on you for questionable reasons and also not paying, so I'm waiting to see a few happy customers before I more fully incorporate them into my sites.

I will give them a go. It is good to have other ad sources...

    Has anyone got paid yet?

Their biggest problem is that they are so slow. I mean, the ads themselves make the web page slow and scrolling is a pain.

They claim to have fixed this a few days ago, and said get the code and repaste it. I did but the speed doesn't seem to have changed.

Right now I have something else on my computer running that tends to slow down my browser a little bit. On pages with WidgetBucks, it's aggravating. Thinking of dropping them. (I don't get any clicks hardly anyway.)

I did not notice any slowness LongHaul to tell you the truth ... at least none that affected the overall web page loading ...

I'd rather wait and see if they actually pay anyone. There's so many of these companies that are not. December's a long time and with the buzz they are getting on the various webmaster forums, I'd rather use the space for something that is more proven.

I can't wait to see how it turns out for the early users and hope it proves to exceed expectations. I'd love to see an alternative to what's currently available make a successful go at the big 2.

I meant actually for my site; but since I don't see any slowness it could actually be your computer ....

I also checked your site and it seemed that the initial slowness is actually from your server ... the widgetbucks widget only starts loading after you page is fully loaded ...

everyone is hoping to find an alternative YMC to monetizing their sites; but that is not contextual advertising, so it couldn't replace adsense.

Interesting program. I've done a bit more research on it and it seems like it could prove to be a great money maker. Still not liking the 45 days to payment concept but liking the 3 day period to explain 'suspicious' clicks.

Contextual Advertising - Isn't their MerchSense program contextual?

A couple of open questions to anyone using WidgetBucks...

Is there a way to slow the rotation? It seems like it switches from product to product a bit too fast.

Are there any categories that would work for Arts and Crafts?

Come to think about it, yeah probably that could be considered contextual

It is allegedly contextual. Since they only have a limited number of advertisers it sometimes gets the targetting a bit wrong. Teething problems.

Waiting to get paid. And they're a new company that just came out a few weeks ago, i'm prettty sure no one has got paid yet.

Try them. I suggest after you make $25, remove the ads and see if they give you the check. =X

As I understand it, the minimum payout is $50. You automatically get $25 credit for the first one, but you still have to get $25 more worth of commissions to get that first payout. They don't just send everyone $25 in mid-December!

I took them out because they terribly affected the speed of my site. Plus, the ads were not even loosely related. I'll see if they get any better with time, but for the time being, it's a no-no for me.

I am going to rate them the way they adjust their figures :

I give them a Ten, wait 7, adjust again 3.

So after 1 month I give them a 3 - for their ever dropping CPC and CPM.
