I've just dipped my toe in the water on these for the first time. The minimum spend is $5 a day, and you can pay for cpc or cpm. So far I'd say the ctr is pretty low:-(
I have but I only spent a little amount of money. Read this post here for more info ! http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=545983 Cheers, bbrian017
Interesting - I think it's worth experimenting with a bit for a few dollars, I've targeted mine according to 'interests', though I'm not sure I quite got the right demographic yet.
no they don't have setup fees what so ever. it's pretty simple you create your add and pay via paypal or credit card. (maybe only credit card) and you add starts to display. The only thing I don't like is while people are looking at 100's and 1000's of pictures on facebook you ad gets displayed and 99% chance it doesn't get seen!
Well this is the problem FB users aren't looking at your ads it's a bunch of teens that are viewing friends pictures and that's about it. Overall a waste of money you're better off starting a facebook group or posting (share a link) on your friends profiles
I was thinking of advertising of facebook because of the magnitude of population. Thanks for sharing your experience.
If you have a product that targets college students, you should give it a shot. Depending on what you're promoting, you'll see a whole bunch of different results. I've also found that it does have a low CTR rate.
Having done some tweaking, and tried targeting different groups to see where the response come is from, I'm starting to see some good results. My advice to anyone thinking about facebook ads would be - try slicing your market up in different ways for a few days - by age group, by location, by gender, by interest - and see who responds best.
People save you money and just create groups. People freely allow you to spam them it's weird. FB users love applications I wish I would have continued in that direction!
CTR and conversions are still low. It's not like the kids are on there looking for stuff to buy. (And any good ads for free stuff get banned by Facebook.)
Like others have said I wouldn't waste my cash The teenagers on facebook aren't very qualified buyers
