Re the recent threads I've posted about IAQD - (Mike Donovan's so called International Association of Quality Directories). Today we got the results from Paypal: Unfortunately, we were unable to resolve this claim in your favour because the item purchased was virtual or intangible. As a result, we have not taken any action against the seller at this time but we have noted your dissatisfaction in the seller's record for future reference. The only benefit we get from this is that they will "note your dissatisfaction in the seller's record for future reference". People - some may agree, some not - This person is no gentlemen in business. If you reject a site or DO NOT CARRY OUT THE DIRECTORY PAID REVIEW and do not reply to the payer at all then you should not be in the business at all. To my understanding Mike Donovan got banned from DP Forums but will be back on Dec 1st 2007. I urge DP now to ban this person permanently and I urge you all to beware of doing business with him. .
Your website is much better than his so called IAQD. But your experience is a warning for everyone else which is something good out of it.
Sorry to hear about your loss, but on a positive note. Sharing this bad experience might save a lot others from the same. So thanks.
vicdigi, did you fund your paypal payment with a credit card by any chance? i know because of the type of product that paypal often wont assist in this, but credit card companies can have quite a bit of power with certain things. Im sorry to hear of what happend.
sorry to hear about it.. Scammers are always be there and you have to choose a reliable one to deal with. Really Sucks man..
In addition, I think Paypal is also doing a very bad job on protecting users'. I've noticed that if you do open a dispute @ Paypal you are most likely to lose. I am sad to hear about this, take this as a lesson and try and avoid such things in the future. Meti
Why did you even submit to this in the first place? If it was a good offer or a website about to lift off, you would have seen threads, blog posts, and that page full of the top directories. This was a scam from day 1.
Guys and girls, thanks for all your support. pctec - thanks for the advice. mywebsearches and floppydrivez - a warning to everyone was my intention. Hope this thread sticks around for a while so many others can be warned too pipes - i think it was funded by credit card! I'd go to my banking if I had the time and could be bothered - as stated before, let him have the $20 - longterm, it is all he's worth. Abhik - thanks mate, it sure does suck, especially when being so called rejected without a review or a reply! WatchOut - what can I say, better watch out next time ehh..... SasaVtec - guess you win some lose some! Thanks all
I know what you mean, sometimes the time spent chasing up something would be hardly worth it and cause more stress. Well as they say once bitten, twice shy, it makes us all aware in general when it happens, its disappointing and annoying but a guy like that wont get far in life going around scamming like that. To the future anyway and hope things like this are kept to a minimum.
Shit!!! I just wanted to submit two sites to them too! Thanks for warning! Someone have to create a blacklist to list scammers there!
