There's always complaining and whining from newbies ( me also ) when they decide and start to making money with adsense. Therefore, i should make a short list of what you should do and what you should'nt do

    Should do
    • Stop dreaming that money will rush into your bank account in overnight
    • Search what you want to write about, make sure you good at it, and make a consistent effort to it
    • Dont make a MFA (Made For Adsense) Site, Focus on your CONTENTS rather than MONEY.
    • Do some homework on how to promote your site, and make a consistent effort even you dont get much traffic at the beginning.
    • Optimise adsense ad (there's many tips in this forum).
    • Repeat the steps.

    Shouldn't do
    • Spamming
    • Violate Adsense TOS
    • Copy and Paste content from other site
    • Lazy
    • think that you give enough effort and start hating adsense bcoz you dont get much money

    Any addition guys?

be prepared to put in the effort and time that it takes and start a site about something you're passionate about instead of what you think will make money.

You can reference the current mesothelioma thread to see an example of "[*]Stop dreaming that money will rush into your bank account in overnight" ;)

I agree about the "Stop dreaming that money will rush into your bank account overnight" thing.. I think there are wayyyyyyyy to many uninformed new webmasters rushing to throw-up a trash MFA expecting to get rich quick..
    It just aint gunna happen..
It's going to take a lot of work and dedication before you see any money.. Even the people making money from MFA's have to work.

Totally agree with your first point..
Building a website and maintaining it is like creating a sculpture out of stone. It takes lots of hardwork, effort and time.

    Well done Sasuke
You are on your way to success. I might also add that you need perseverance.

I started off with Adsense in 2004 and then there were not as much free information about Adsense as today. In my first year I only received a cheque every second or third month and only in my second year did I start earning a meaningful income.

Nether ever give up. Do not let pessimists steal your dream away.
    :D
