Does anyone know of any good freelance sites. I know DP has a good section for this but I was wondering if anyone has had any experience and could recommend any others. I'm looking for work in either Animation (Flash), Design (Photoshop) or Programming (Html/PHP etc).

I prefer RentACoder, but you might also try ScriptLance or eLance.

GAF, RAC, Scriptlance, Elance and Guru.com are the perfect fit. You can try few forums other than DP- V7N forums, iwebtooltalk.com, etc.

We have been working with freelance websites,
and here is my preferences for the same
    1) Guru.com (This is at first)
    2) Scriptlance (You can start with your free listing.)
    3) RentACoder.com (This is also fine to work with, cheap offering)
    4) Elance (Very costly, and tough fight for any project)

    I hope this would help.

Just a general note: Research what bidders clam - I found a company claiming they had done SEO work on one of my sites on getafreelancer.com. :(

As long as there is a good escrow system, my risk as a buyer is so low that I have much less concern what the bidders claim. :)

If you're looking for clients instead of projects and are in the USA, look at posting your services at FreelanceLocalTech.com. It's free to post a consultant listing or a client project and we don't get in the way of the client-freelancer relationship.

I've used rentacoder in the past and they are excellent. There's a great escrow and arbitration system with almost no risk to the buyer or seller.

Guru.com is the best place IMO. I guess the problem with all the sites is that you are gonna compete with India.

I have a wicked flash designer that does work for me, I charge my clients 10x what he charges me..

Oh sorry you want work for you. I'd say forget the freelance sites, go for craigslist.com, its a GREAT site for leads and a lot of people will ONLY do work with American companies and freelancers.

Yes, everyone must work with ESCROW payment system. This is secure for both BUYER and SELLER.
