specifically i'm looking for article writers. elance has quite a few, but their writing categories do not match that of my site.

I am using rentacoder.com for a long time (both as a coder and buyer) and happy with the result.

Agree.. Using rentacoder since around 5 years now both ways also ( buyer/coder ) and IMO it's the best out there.

Don't order from the cheapest bids at GAF.... check twice before accepting bidder for your project. I have got some problems with 9+positive feedback guys with total feedback of over 20.....

    Try freelancersatlarge.com.

The freelancers there are mostly into webdevelopment and designing but you might be able to find some good writers. Maybe worth a try.

Another: FreelanceLocalTech.com, free freelance consultant / micro-consultant directory service. Free to list your services, free for clients to list their projects/needs. No bidding, no middle-man, just consultants looking for local clients.
