So Google will now pay you $10 to submit Businesses

Haven't seen this posted, but seems pretty interesting.

I imagine you could do 30 businesses an hour in well populated areas.

"Hi I'm a contractor for Google, would you like your business details on Google Maps? Write down your details and I'll be back in an hour or so to pick them up". Take some photos, and you'll probably make over $1k a day fairly easily.

Shame it's in the USA only though!

Good post but I don't think it would be that easy. A person would have to explain Google Local to the owner, if they get to talk with him/her at all, and answer all kinds of questions about not only G but technology in general.

To get the $10 the owner has to verify, which means return the postcard the Local sends. How many will forget all about the visit and throw out the card? I just don't see it as easy money. Can you make some cash doing it? Sure, but I thinks it's a good amount of hard work.

I don't think Google would do it by snail mail....They would probably do email verification

One question I have regarding this ( and I am out of the US so can't sign up at the moment ), is what will happen if the same shop or business is visited several times by the Google rep ??

It looks like this might be a case for those signing up to visit as many businesses as possible, before another local who has signed up does the same thing.
