Please read my post HERE to know the background of my this thread. Then read the following points carefully. I have talked with Moneybookers customer care on phone & finally got the answer that Moneybookers is not charge backable but there are mainly 3 reasons due to which you may get cancellation of your payment. (In another way it is of course a charge back though literally doesn't mean so.) According to officer on call, your payment may get canceled if, 01. The payer is using some other party's Moneybookers in unauthorized way & the original owner of that Moneybooker a/c complains about that unauthorized activity. In this case the Moneybookers reserves the rights to cancel such payment. 02. The payer uses some stolen CC to fund his a/c & also sends that fund to other Moneybookers, if in such case Credit Card company asks Moneybookers for compensation, Moneybookers reserves the right to cancel such payment. 03. The payer himself complaints that he has sent the payment to some other party account by mistake. But in such case Moneybookers first ask to the recipient also about such transaction & if the recipient agrees with that then MB can reverse that transaction (the word is reverse not cancel) & if the recipient doesn't agree with that they may temporarily hold that fund till investigation gets over. So the conclusion is MB is not at all safe, though like PayPal buyer himself can't reverse or cancel or charge back the payment but there are loopholes with which they can cancel such payments with the involvement of MB. So please note the following points to avoid such frauds with MB, 01. Just like PayPal, always exchange with members having good itrade score. 02. Just like PayPal, Moneybookers fund should go first. 03. Ask the MB sender for the screen shot of his recent a/c history & my account page, before receiving his MB fund 04. Before sending your e-gold or any other currency, ask the sender to show the Screen Shot of his history page & my account page again, once you get the payment from him to your MB. 05. Now match the detail with those two screen shots 06. If the Screen Shot of the recent a/c history page shows any funding with CC don't do that exchange or do only if he is a trusted member with good itrade. 07. The total balance difference in the my account page Screen Shots before getting the payment & after getting the payment must exactly match the amount you have received, as he may fund his account between showing you the first Screen Shot & sending you the payment. 08. Always note the time of those transactions.
Excellent points.Rep added. To add one more point ,i would say member should also ask the guy to send him email from his MB account e-mail just to make sure that he really owns a account.
Well getjimmy, Thanks for your Rep. but the point you have mentioned here will not work if the sender is on a third party a/c. As he can add his own email id to that a/c as a secondary email & then can send email from it.
Nice tips. I really like moneybookers mainly because it is available to most countries that paypal imposes limitations on. The fees are cheaper also. I hope more people use moneybookers.
