My account was also disabled citing the "Misuse" reasons. But I dunno where I have erred. Its really unfair when you take all the pains to register and create your profile at a site and it disactivate that account without any warning! I'd developed and nurtured my own circle there. For whom I am doing all these labour. I'd boycott the Digg now onwards. Either it should point out the exact reasons for this or make an apology to us. You all are requested to come forward to boycott Digg and develop a community against Digg.
I used digg a lot for marketing, they brought in a fair amount of traffic. Last week, I submitted a game and did not even think about it. In a day, I was on the front page and getting thousands of unique visitors instantly. However, just a few hours ago I noticed my account was removed and my digg submissions were ALSO removed. Now this suck because I would have been on the playable web games front page for days. Does anyone know of the reasons that digg.com removes accounts? I emailed them, hopefully they will respond.
You may be banned for fabricated diggs. But there is no reason of getting banned when you are getting a lot of natural diggs. Do you have more than one digg accounts? And do you log in to those accounts form the same machine?
Look at your first sentence, You used digg for marketing, Digg doesn't exists as a place for you to market your sites.
A few other posters here including myself will not have any sympathy for those that basically abused the Digg system (admit it, that's what it is in the end). Many times, I have posted warnings about posting Digg exchanges and pointing to this thread - http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=105564 . Many of you heeded, others simply turned a blind eye. For those that did (including those claiming ignorance), tough luck. You played Digg, now do not come here crying because they played their side by banning your accounts. Read the link above on how thorough Digg is in when cracking down on what it considers an abuse of its system. It only bans you if it believes that you abused their system and rarely if ever responds to emails pleading innocence.
http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=105564 Haha, thats a great thread. Made me chuckle for sure. Too bad I didn't see it before!
My guess is that in a few months we will again have Digg exchange type threads from a new lot of people here. Another thread such as this will appear saying the same things again. Don't believe me? check out the link below: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=105564 This has happened before and no one learns. I got tired of warning those that started Digg Me threads. A ban is sometimes is the best way to stop what happened - those who read this will remember it and those who don't will be the ones doing the Digg Me threads in the future.
i have to quote nelson (simpson) Ha Ah! i use my account only to help DP members and it works fine. if you want me to digg you send me pm (rep is appreciated)
