I don't know much about them but one of my friend told me that it is a very bad company. they steal your domain setting and sell it to someone else.. they might steal your files hosted on their servers.

But again, I am not sure about it. I just told you what my friend told me thats it :)

Get used to it. A lot of members do that. 1&1 isn't the best. I'd go with GoDaddy. They always have coupons.

Avoid 1and1...lots of issues to speak of that'd make a book ;)

    I'd recommend NameCheap.

    Hello,
I think the best is try and have the personal opinion, is 5.99 no big deal, I will register one domain, and I will review it :)

I don't know about stealing your information but they do have a clunky domain and host management system.

I've liked their interface and have about 70 domains with them.

Their are alot of insinuations here but no specifics. Does anyone have details?

Their hosting is fine, nothing wrong with that. But transferring domains to 1and1 is a huge hassle. I love their hosting because it is very reliable.

they have a couple of things good, but some are bad as well.
so its better not to go for that.

Personally, I wouldn't use them, have heard quite a number of people who had issues with them. Decent ones are Godaddy, Namecheap, Moniker

Many people have "heard about", but I've been using theirs services for over 2 years (both as domainer and host), and I never had problems.

Never lost a domain, and as a host, very reliable service. The only negative point I can find is the support via email which can be slow.

Once a domain is at 1&1 it's there forever, eh?

I guess if you dont want to change registrars or transfer then 1and1 is ok Else it would be big pain as they have poor support and very slowin activating a domain (most other domain registrars are instant domain activation)
So it depends on price vs quality...

Avoid 1&1. Use NameCheap or GoDaddy.
