When you pay or receive make sure you include some detail in the payment for what it was, especially when it is a virtual service. Did you do that? If not you have nothing to proof. - If you did include that, you can.
Likely, you won't get any interest for this, just dispute your money, that is sometime enough to get the money back quickly unless he's taken it out from the account.

This is likely the guy, or he uses this in the profile as disguise. If it is the real guy I woudln't think that he scammed you. Check with the website.

So he's in India - why's his location say 'CA'? And why does he use the details of a US business? This is getting more fishy by the minute. I hope he logs on soon to clear things up. Jeez - $1.5 k is enough to feed a family of 10 for a year in India!

Sorry to hear about your problem, learn from it and move on.

Great point made by pingpong. This sounds like a common eBay scam, hopefully its not. Often users build false reputations on minor transactions all the while fishing for a big payday. After that payday they disappear.

Its may be too late now but there are several things that could prevent this in the future. This entire link business of trading on reputation alone may work in some cases when honest people are involved but often there is no structure from what Ive seen:
    These things may help
    • Escrow service for link the business (lots of smart guys here, maybe someone could start this)
    • Get a written agreement (does not have to be long but will go a long way)
    • Know who your doing business with, talk to their previous clients FIRST

File a Paypal Dispute, they often favor the victim even when its the victims fault. The longer you wait the more likely that money will be removed from that persons account making it harder for you to get a refund.

There is no need to whine about the infraction, DP is not favoring any scammer...

The time you are wasting here, I'd have filed a dispute and charge back on paypal, and leave negetive iTrader to the seller, If I were you. The rule clearly says "Bad trade?? leave Negative iTrader", thats why it is there for.

What is the purpose of this thread?? to warn other people about the scam? This thread will die in mere 5 days. but iTrader will stay there forever..
You should have posted in his sales thread, left the -ve iTrader and Filed a chargeback. The exceuse that he will leave the negetive iTrader in revenge is ridiculous, you can always report the bad iTrader.

thewebmaster, a dispute with paypal wont do a darn thing, i allready tried that route. I bought a website from someone on dp and as soon as i got it from that person the revenues were 1/10th less then he said it was and he is still posting on dp and threatened me with a lawsuit if i warn others about him, also he wont answer my pms anymore.
I love dp and im a regular here but they have to bann these scam artists and get them off this forum. Its the only way to prevent it from happening again:(.

My seo has never ripped anyone off and has never failed in getting a site into the top 10 yet people will go to someone like this. I quit trying to figure this out a long time ago lol
    \
But webmaster what happens if you allready gave the guy a good itrader rating? Can u take it back and give him a bad one?

Yes for a limited time, you can edit your iTrader if you think you are not getting what you have been told.

Dont give iTrader (Good or Bad) until you are 100% sure about the product.
DP has never been involved in such disputes..

I know the charge back on Paypal for virtual products doesnt leave much hope, that why when you are making any payment more than you can afford to loose, use Credit card. It is the safest way.

But in this case, a dispute and chargeback is the only hope he has been left with..

$1,560 for a 1-year link on a PR8 page. Why did you pay so much?

    UPDATE:

I filed a chargeback a couple days ago, actually. This morning, I received an email from PayPal letting me know that he decided to refund the payment.

I would still LOVE to know why DP gave me a "harassment" infraction for posting this thread.
