I have a site that has been on the second page for a very competitive keyword for the last few months and today it has just gone, not on any page. I am still on the first page for all keyphrases, so a little less worrying. Anyone any ideas, I have done nothing different as far as I know. Have I been sandboxed again? Paul
Well I have done nothing wrong as far as I know.....I am pretty savvy with how google works as I had a very good teacher. I understand they change the goal posts now and again, but not completly drop you, unless I have been a naughty boy, they must think so. Strange thing is if you just do a U.K search, then I am still in the same spot!!
Yup, something similar happened to me. I suspect it was a human-edited dealio, however. (I started to say 'hand job,' but no, that would be wrong.)
Have you been working on optimizing your site and backlinks? It can drop if you stop.. your competitors can be getting ahead of your rankings.
I dropped from the Google index as well. But for all my keywords...It was business as usual. Posting new stuff regularly. I'm not using forbidden techniques...The pages are still in Google's index though. Is there a way we can ask Google what is going on?
have you been sandboxed before? anyways, am noticing some fluctions, even one of my blog was out of google's index for a week and now it is back indexed, and it is ranking pretty well! just want for a few week and then give a reinclusion request from the webmaster central, keep optimizing and it will be all right!
No just when the site first came out, it is only just over a year old. I will wait a while and see what happens, I update very regular and add articles of my own on there, so don't think this would be the problem. My site is www.anxietynomore.co.uk by the way. Thanks for your help and advice on this. Paul
I gues it's a fluctuation of serps It should be back in few days it happened to my twice in las month
I don't know if this is what's happening with your site... It's affectionately known as the Google Shuffle. It appears to be a process of handling the volume (data), while recalculating... well, whatever needs recalculating.
Yes same here. I usually get my main keywords dropping a few spots and the secondary keywords almost disappearing. After a few days it all comes back or gets even better ranking.
i also suffered this for some days, fluctuation of serps is the main reason...will be back in couple of days...dont worry
It amazes me the fluctuations we see in Google rankings. It also is fairly remarkable how long Google "remembers" pages that are no longer there. But when I think about the massive amount of data Google has to deal with, it makes me go all cross-eyed. I assume that most people here are using the Google Webmaster tools? What the general consensus on it?
i think google has changed somethink on its algo. if you did not loose any of your backlinks, it wil come but it's time to wait. i also suggest you to read http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=296621. it's an article about keeping your serp
google ranking change almost everyday so just wait and see it will come back or not. give google sometime.
Ok thanks everyone, I will do the waiting game. Just a bit worrying as 80% of sales come from google, but all the key-phrases seem to be still there so I wont worry as yet. Paul
