My Site Suddenly Disappears From Google

Discussion in 'Google' started by jonathanlht, May 1, 2007.

I own a website and have a Google Page Rank 1 and is indexed by Google. Recently my site has gone up to RR2 but to my surprise my site is no longer indexed by Google. Can anyone tell me why this had happened? What am i suppose to do in order to be reindexed in Google? Thank you.

If you have PR you are not banned from Google.
    Did you try the search:

    site:www.yourddomain.info

If you are banned maybe you used some shady techniques ?

My site just returned to the SERPS after a 2 month downtime? I havent updated it for over 6-8 months, nor did I start again once I noticed it was dropped. Just checked 5 minutes ago, and its back in the SERPS.

    Backlinks will be the answer.

Some sites seem to need much more links than others to get/stay indexed - I have a small 30 page site that I've been battling to get indexed - it now has about 10 good PR4 links and about one extra page a day gets indexed; and other sites where a couple of decent links seem to be enough for 30-40 pages.

aside: this is why it is not sensible for google to try and ban paid links. A new site will not get indexed if you don't get some decent links to 'get the ball rolling' - either from your own other sites or from buying links - and if it's not indexed no-one will find it and want to link naturally. /aside

You have either duplicate content on your site or a 'bad' site linked to yours.

Don't panic and wait it out. This is normal for Google. It has happened to me twice. It takes max 2 weeks to work itself out.

neither of these prevent your site from getting indexed....

"bad" site linked to yours....you can't control who links to you....
