Just joined yesterday, and was noticing the reputation system. I've been on a lot of other forums where the rep system wasn't used correctly...or the admins just didn't care what people did with it... Like users negatively repping someone just because they don't like their opinion and other stupid stuff like that... is that a problem here?...i've searched around a little and haven't really noticed that much of an issue unless i wasn't looking in the right places...so just thought I'd ask I find it amazing that a forum this size can use the reputation system so well
thanks for that nice info in that post, but it really doesn't answer most of my questions ...i am looking more towards seeing how people use it..is the system abused a lot? Hmm,people here only give green if you give them them help or something in return. Well that's my experience here.
mostly people will give greens, it is very rare that you get red raps that you did not deserved. i had a few red reps that were stupid, but then most of the reps are not abuse and people only get those when they really deserve!
I'm sorry Daniel, but same goes here. You can receive red reps just because someone did not like your post and opinion. What do you expect? --Joe
glad to here it truthfully i didn't expect anything less...was just wondering of the amount of those occurances ...lol...and possibly if you can argue those red reps to admin? (not a big deal if you can't...i'm not planning on pissing anyone off...lol...)...just curious

To find out how the rep works, you will just need to hang around for a while Same rules as always. Contribute and you will get the green. Be an idiot - you get red.
If you post something useful & someone really feels it was helpful, you'll get some green. If you post something stupid or posts insults to people, you'll get lots of red. And don't start a thread asking why you got an infraction, then people will start giving a lot of red, I know from experinece
yeah, I don't think i'd post a thread like that anyway...though I definately won't now... though I sure hope I don't do anything to get an infraction...
