Peres calls Lebanon war a 'mistake'

JERUSALEM - Vice-Premier Shimon Peres told a panel investigating the government's handling of last year's war in Lebanon that Israel's decision to invade was a mistake and the military was unprepared, according to testimony made public Thursday.

Peres also said Hezbollah did a better job of handling media coverage than the Israelis did.

They had quite an advantage, as most of the worlds media is anti-US and, by extension, anti-Israeli.

The Jews could give a lollipop to every Muslim child on Earth and the headlines would read "Zionists Fatten Muslim Children for Slaughter."

It is kind of good to see you back posting in this P&R forum again Will, I always though you would make a great addition to the ever growing "Crazy Gang" let by GTech with his ever faithful lapdog d16man in tow but you really need to shake this "everyone hates Jews" thing you seem to have.

    It's not good mate.

Well I want to contribute on this one
I like to call a 'spade a spade'
And have to say over the last 20 years and many for years before that :-
Shimon Peres is one of the few Middle Eastern Internationally known Politicians who usually talks with an awful lot of common sense and compassion

Don't be ridiculous. The Israeli's were defending themselves against hostile rocket attacks and cross-border murder raids.

The Israeli's did everything technically feasible to limit enemy civilian casualties. The enemy had absolutely no interest in limiting civilian casualties on either side. They used civilians as targets and as shields.

Your morality seems to be a slave to your religion.

Only south part of Beirut was bombed, which is on south, and which is considered hezb stronghold.

Have you read that crap in reuters lol

Really shows how Israel should learn to use the media like the terrorists do...

It's not hezb that caused all this , everything was prepared before

Olmert: Lebanon war was planned in advance

Even if i dont share the same value of hezb , if someone attack my country without doubt i will support the defender , who ever they are and this is what all lebanese without exception did (during the war) ... even the government .

ps) brb in the night ... have to go out
