Several of us here in the forums have decided to have So Cal DP Meetup. This will be a casual event with at least one giveaway. Here's the tenative plan: When: 3:00pm Sunday March 25, 2007 Where: Fox Sport Grille, Irvine Spectrum (may change based on response) What: A meet up to see who really looks like their avatar and discuss the issues in the analog world that we normally discuss at DP. Who: Any and all DP'ers that want to get together to talk shop. Several prominent DP'ers plan to be there including one who was interviewed on Shoemoney's show and one who was is featured in a Google Adsense case study. Please reply with interest and check back for details including final location based on response.
As TBarr posted, I will be there (Adsense Case-Study) - and i'll be forcing free copies of my eBook on anyone that will take it! Can't wait.. Maybe we should make mention of this post in some of the other forums .. (?)
Other forums and I will be adding a link to the thread in my signature which I'd recommend others do.
I'm all over it. And I totally look like my avatar. Except for the thin part. And the skin color. But hey... put me in a top hat and coat and look at me through one of those fun-zone mirrors and it's my spitting image.
For all of you that are "in", please put this thread in your signature so we can try and draw s'more locals..
Brian, I should have things confirmed by mid week. To all others, Please post your interest in this thread and check back later in the week for final details. Thanks.
That's a great idea? Suggestions? Maybe a formal list of topics is a little too much for the first meeting, but it could actually help things flow better (as would the availability of beer!) Here's a few ideas.... Black-Grey-White - where do you stand? Most useful advice you can come up with on any topic Arbitrage - experiences and advice Intro's - where you came from, how you got started, where you are at now ID exchange - exchange ids on various social sites so we can leverage each other. Scams and Moneywasters Recommendations - top list of professional services you reccommend.
To extend on "ID exchange - exchange ids on various social sites so we can leverage each other." in nevetS post, I'd like to kick around an idea for a kick start network to get sites, forums, new products, etc. When you launch a site or product getting momentum going can be tough or expensive.
wow even by meeting , will a lot of webmasters be eager to let out their techniques? im all for it but i just want to make sure alot of us are on the same page. you might get half that do and others that are just going to milk it and not give back. what are your thoughts?
I expect there may be some that want to steal a secret and make a quick buck but I think we will be sharing the things that work with hard work so the takers won't get much and won't stick around. Tearabite is giving away copies of his e-book, it contains solid information but it requires work to implement it. I don't mind sharing what I know about coding, Adwords, testing, etc but I won't let you know what my killer niches are but I might let you know how I look for them or how I've improved conversion. I kinda look to the way Shoemoney presents things in his blog and on his radio shoe. He stands to lose alot but doesn't really give away his killer secrets, passwords, or PIN's. We should all feel free to share or not share anything and everything.
well i dont mind at all as long as i see people really interested in sharing. and what we do sometimes does take hard work , but sometimes its very easy. so i guess well see what happens and go from there.
Cool! I live in OC and was just down at the Spectrum on Sunday (saw 300 at the IMAX for the second time! ) I'll try to make it.
