https://www.digitalpoint.com/help/posting Show me where does it say anything about "Duplicate threads are not allowed" fastreplies
Last point from the first section pretty much sums it up : "Search before you post a new thread, because there's a good chance someone already posted it. We don't need 50 threads letting everyone know Michael Jackson died... One is enough."
Since you're bringing up "duplicate content", I'm guessing you're on about the Marketplace, and yeah...: Duplicate Listings Don't do it... ever. A sale that is "over" or "closed" does not mean you can create another listing. You can use the "Bump/Relist" option if you want to bump or relist something. (ref: https://www.digitalpoint.com/help/marketplace)
No, it doesn't If 50 posts would say: 'MJ died today', then yes, but if they are talking about different topics like: music, lyrics, golden records, his family etc. having MJ name not in any way make them duplicates. du·pli·cate adjective adjective: duplicate 'd(y)o?opl?k?t/ 1. exactly like something else, especially through having been copied. "a duplicate license is issued to replace a valid license which has been lost" synonyms: matching, identical, twin, corresponding, equivalent "duplicate keys" 2. having two corresponding or identical parts. "a duplicate application form" Code (markup): As you can see your example doesn't cover dictionary definition. NO fastreplies
Shouting? Really? Do you have any idea how "shouting" works online? THIS WOULD BE SHOUTING! Asking "what the fuck are you on about" is not shouting, it's a slightly aggressivly poised question - which you didn't answer. So you have again wasted time and effort on writing something that looks like something a 6year old would write on a bathroom wall.
I'm guessing he wanted to promote his directory, the very site he spammed to earn his lengthy ban, and created a new thread rather than just updating his existing thread.
And how is totally different content of post is Duplicate Content? This is what you are saying in your Warning. Show me what is Duplicate in my thread and I mean show "ANYTHING", now can you? Old post say: 10 years old directory, now it's 15 years old, which is misleading and if you so much care about having up to date info, then why keep old post and delete new one if smart money say forum would benefit to have that info fresh which would attract visitors? fastreplies
Same site, same forum category??? This is how you define "duplicate". You do realize that people are reading what you have said and asking: wtf she is talking about? How the name or title can be "duplicate"? Is this is the best she could come up with? Is Content duplicate too? Even Insane Donald Trump's spin doctors saying: can't touch that one, Sarah is confused... Melania is the one who have plagiarized speech... You see, this is the reason this forum is dead and if Shawn would stop grabbing past glory, he would pull plug the moment this forum attendance 1st time hit below 100 visitors mark, because this is embarrassment for forum owner to have Mod whose job is to be a beacon of fairness instead playing some childish games thus embarrassing her Boss for no other reason but to justify action which shouldn't be an issue IFP. On another hand, thank you for deleting out discount offer because: a) I doubt anyone would visit that category based on fact my posts in there untouched since Wednesday, b) I would hate to see your mouthpieces in this form benefit from it and that makes me very happy 'camperer'. And now, if you excuse me, my day job is calling me... fastreplies
If the limit is one domain per forum subcategory, I don't see how posting a second time with the same domain (with same usage, even, as I've understood it) isn't duplicate content. And, again - why don't you just update the old post, and bump it to the top? Since the content in the old post/thread is out-of-date anyway, why not just update the one already there? THIS is what I don't get.
Not in rules So, the same domain makes it "duplicate"? Which part of following you're disagree: matching, identical, twin, corresponding, equivalent, copy & paste? 3 reasons. You have 3 guesses... starting now WOW, I thought you can only vomit all over the forum and yet all the sadden you have come up with very intelligent, reserved for people with brain question. Isn't that would be just nice to edit initial post which have started that thread, change dates, title, description, prices, available options and then joying hands and singing: kumbaya? Well, this is something I'm sure Dear Sarah can answer. fastreplies
You have singled out @sarahk several times on other threads. Targeting a particular member goes against the rules of this or any site....and it's just not cool.
Did you ever look at the allowed or not sticky above? Duplicate Threads Do not create more than one thread to promote your product or service (this includes modified titles or content that still refer to your same items). If you wish to draw attention to a "buried" thread, create a link to that thread in your personal signature. Duplicate threads will be deleted, and duplicate thread or spamming (5-point) infractions will be given. I have been on this forum since 2004. Duplicate threads have never been allowed. BTW, as to one place you mentioned sarahk https://forums.digitalpoint.com/threads/to-post-or-not-to-post.2784316/#post-19358345
Look at the answer @Smyrl made Yes. 1. You can't find the edit-button? 2. You can't find the bump-option? 3. You dunno where backspace is on the keyboard, and have never heard of ctrl+a and ctrl+v? Why Sarah? Why can't YOU just answer the question, since all you're doing is dance around the question like a drunken fighter? You KNOW that you don't need to sign every bloody post you make, right? There is no need. I can see who posts, and this is just the thing we have signatures for.
I was wondering if this was irritating anyone else besides me, it's just so stupid. But then again we have to consider the source.
It would be so much more credible if the signoff was anything other than his username too - like his/her actual name.
