Anyone can explain to me how I can make an ad unit, lets say a skyscraper, float on the left or right of a page, so the ads will still be displayed when scrolling down on page? Kinda like a frame I guess. Btw Im no webdesign lord, all my pages are simple html with only text and images F.ex is there a way I can make a table stay locked on the screen and not scroll up/down when rest of page is scrolled?
I used to do this, but I don't really recommend it because people will then see it as an ad and won't see it as "part of the content", if you get my flow. here are the instructions on how to make a floating top bar. http://www.dynamicdrive.com/dynamicindex17/floatbar.htm All you need to do is restyle it and change the size of the box. I think a lot of people were wondering if this is against TOS, but I think a lot of people have said that it is not. best thing would be email google but like I said, even I myself found the ad to be intrusive and would not visit my own website if that thing was there 24/7 I did some googling for you if you're interested: http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum89/481.htm
Of course it's against the Adsense TOS. By having the ad float, you are "drawing undue attention" to it. Thank your lucky stars you removed it before someone reported you Gary.
Hello everyone, Some people here seems so sure by telling that this is against TOS but is there a precise term about this or are you just filling in the blanks in TOS ? For example, fixed ads are allowed. Please read post #13 in http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=16895
