I enclosed a sample of fixed adsense placement, done with a style sheet Got it from here: http://www.howtocreate.co.uk/fixedPosition.html All though I cannot find anything against it in the TOS, I didn't upload it on one of me sites... Waddajatink?
Yeah, good job although I think it would be too annoying to the user. I personally would not use it. Could this be classed as
Good stuff. I think it would be best for you to email AS about it, just to be on the safe side. Better safe than sorry. AmCy
hmmm, I think we know that making ads blend in to your site makes them more clickable, so, if you make them stand out like this they will be less clickable? Would be interesting to run it on a site and change nothing else for a week to see what the CTR does.. but as AmCy said, very anoying
If you put it in the right top corner like here, I don't think its so annoying... It makes it a sort of frame page.... Suppose I would make page wide header that stays put, including the ad, including site navigation, this is more or less standard layout work, this would not be offensive, irritating, no that would be functional, besides keeping the ad in sight. Some pages are so Loooong that even 3 ads well spread out go out of sight sometime... but indeed "drawing any undue attention" may be the case.... I will mail G.
Cool. Emailing them let's them know that you would rather communicate before implementing ideas that you're not sure about; it's a good thing. You'll let us know when they respond, I hope AmCy
Nah...that's a technique that some people I know use, people who've been with AS since its inception and are making a lot of money with AS. Some other folks in this forum also use the same technique, though many of them keep their sites a secret because they don't want anyone stealing their ideas. AmCy
Ok this should be an allowed sample: http://www.vierstra.com/fixed-adsense-ad/ Allowed and "blended" as well.
Nice work, not nasty or distracting.. only downside is at 800x600 or on a non-maximised browser the 4th ad is never visible. Looks good tho.
One thing to point out is that fixed positioning causes printing problems. If you are implementing this, also implement a selectable stylesheet for a printable page, or offer an alternative page. I can't stand it when I try to print a web page and it comes out all messed up.
Hi guys, Why is it that when a person scrolls up and down you get that "shaking" effect on your fixed ads? it is quite annoying and looks a bit amatuer. Couldn't you just place the add in a frame to achieve the same effect? Then you would lose the "shake". Cheers, jumble
Thanks for the info on this. You would not use frames as the Adsense cannot take the content. For a better solution than the shaking effect see this URL and "discovery" (view source): http://www.jonra.com/css-demos/floating-menu.html
