How to transfer your Blog from blogspot to wordpress

Hello,

I have a blog at blogspot.com

I have decided to move that blog to wordpress.

Is there any way I can easily transfer all my blogspot posts/comments to my new wordpress hosting.

With the new wordpress version 2.0 there's a import function (tab) where you can import from blogger to the new wordpress.

 

Yeah, it is money. It was easy to do pre-2.0, but now it is a joke it is so easy.

 

Thanks a lot for directing me in right direction.

I updated the wordpress installation from 1.5 to 2.0. Rest was really a cake walk.

Few issues with 2.0 are that couple of plugins and themes are not working.

 

Damn! I just did it last month using my old friends Mr. Cut and Ms. Paste!

What's the difference between blogspot and wordpress?

I have just started a blog with blogspot and I feel comfortable with it, why are you moving to wordpress? just wondering

 

It was like charm.. enter your blogspot userid/password, select the blog you want to transfer and relax. It was very very easy.

Number of factors, more professional, flexibility, ease of customization, can use different plugins, your own domain, can choose my own customized skin and especially things are in your control. I just found a thread on this forum:

if you want manual you can export your blogger and get the xml file then find in google blogger to wp its host by googlecode
convert the xml file then import to your wordpress

the automatic metode use import in setting menu in wordpress its need authorization

 

It is very easy to migrate from Blogger to wordpress. You can use the option of retrieving posts from blogger with tools that are available in Wordpress. Before that make sure your permalinks are set correctly and all tags are converted to categories

Export .Xml file from blogger and go wordpress dashboard-> tools -> import -> browse .xml and upload it

 

using word press is so easy now a days .... just import blogger posts/comments to the word press and you have done.

Just update your wordpress version to the latest one. or you can use blogger plugin. juat search it on your wordpress admin panel--> plugin --> add new --> search, use keyword "blogger", you will get many option of plugin to use.

You may try wordpress plugin, however it not always works and this method requires some tech knowledge. However, there is one more way, you may try this video tutorial to move your content. Just simple export your blogger.com's xml file and then go to wordpress wp admin > tools > import. then import that file here.
