Yet another wanna-be corrupt DMOZ submitter!

He posted this just a little bit ago here. Clearly he wants to pay an editor for a listing. I responded as you can see and he PMed me. The following are our conversations.

All his info is there for the proper authorities: name, URL, email. :D

You are bragging about lying to him, getting him to give you private information in a PM and then posting it here for everyone to see.

Your behavior is equally unethical and a nice warning never to do business or PM with you either.

    Thanks for the heads up.

    Corrupt DMOZ Submitter

So he is willing to pay because he cant get included, so what? Heck I'll even pay an editor to add my sites and all my client sites.

If you want to save the world why not chase down all the DMOZ editors offering listings for cash or better yet chase down the ones that have web companies and who freely add their clients to DMOZ as part of their "SEO service".

I must say its very admirable of you to lie to another DP member then bluntly call him corrupt, talk about calling the kettle black!

Yes, my actions were clearly as unethical as the guy who created that thread looking to buy his way into DMOZ. I see your point. Ominc and I should start a DMOZ Corruption Society.

 With a statement like the above, I nominate Turfsniffer to be Chairman of the Board of our little group. ;)

Wow if all you were going to do is post all of this info anyway, why even carry it out in PM? What's to say we should even beleive you? Who's to say you really aren't a DMOZ editor? But the deal went bad? I find your actions very unethical and not to mention hypocrtitical.

[sarcasm]OH NO!!!!! SOMEONE PAYING TO HAVE HIS SITE INCLUDED IN A DIRECTORY HE WAS TRYING TO GET INTO FOR YEARS!!!!!!!!! HWAT A BAD MAN!!!!![/sarcasm]

As opposed to you lying and trying to ride in on the chariot of morality and justice.

OH and don't even mention the "authorities". What you did is what "authorities" would consider entrapment. It would never hold up in a court of law.

At least have the decency to remove his personal information.

    I totally agree with you.

Yeah, I have to agree. What you did is 10 times shadier then someone trying to get into DMOZ. So he would pay to have his site listed in DMOZ. Big deal, so would 100,000 other people.

Can't edit my original post but if a mod feels like removing, I wouldn't object. The DMOZ editors that frequent this board have no doubt already collected this information.

Well, I never said I was not an @sshole for this....but...entrapment? That's a little overboard. The guy posted a thread looking for corrupt editors. I didn't just post a thread myself saying EDITOR HERE. You are making this guy out to be a victim, which he certainly is not. When you post on a public forum stating you want to BRIBE AN EDITOR, you should expect low lifes like me to take advantage of the situation...and many would have tried to take him for some cash as well.
