I'm trying to get my site listed in: http://dmoz.org/Shopping/Office_Products/Furniture/ I've tried a few times over the years and it hasn't worked out so if someone things they can do it and wants to quote me a price I'm very interested.
I can help you but I am not cheap. My prices are 1 link for $250, 5-10 links for $150 each, and 11 or more at $100 each. PM me with your information and I will see if I can get my meta editors on it.
Alternatively, you can cut out the middle man. Go to resource-zone.com, find a regular poster with "Meta" or "Admin" in their title and PM them with all the URLs you want listed along with the price you want to pay. You should be able to get a bulk deal, and they can even put special tags on the listings so they get highlighted. Tell 'em "oneeye sent you". Best of luck. Oh, but get a quote from Mr Prophecy first by all means.
<climbs onto soapbox> It seems to me that the only way to get onto DMOZ is to pay the extortion fee. I have tried for several years to get a single site on by legitimate means (I refuse to pay someone to do it). I have applied several times to become an editor, buthave been rejected on Lord knows what grounds. I do not know a single person (fairly large sphere of contacts here) that has gotten on for free. Am I the only one who is irked by this? This is supposed to be an OPEN directory, but if the editors are only putting your site in if you cash up, what a crock. Read the so-called Social Contract from Netscape: http://dmoz.org/socialcontract.html Those of you extorting money for the submission service are wrong. <climbs off of soapbox>
I submitted a site nearly a year ago and have heard nothing yet - not unusual from what I've read. I submitted to be an editor and followed the guidelines to the letter and got a "form letter" rejection with no explanation. DMOZ is a dinosaur that needs to extinct itself...
Port , its really bad on your part., to start a thread like this: (http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=1600197) i would say, its not wrong on his part. You tempted him.,
I tempted him? Maybe. Wrong on my part? I won't deny it, I can be a real @ss. But not wrong on his part? Not in a million years. Look closely. I only responded to his initial post: I may have been a little over-the-top with my treatment of this guy, but there is nothing that gets me angrier than these people who try to bend or break the rules, whether it be: DMOZ, blackhat SEO, auto directory submissions, mass spam emailing, etc. We won't ever rid the web of these shady characters, but let's at least put some fear in them that there will be consequences and repercussions for their actions. This poor guy got exactly what he deserves. Those that seem to be upset with me for my actions, think about this. And be honest with yourself. It seems the only people that seem to say I was wrong for what I did are those that would also pay a DMOZ editor for a listing (maybe they are afraid of being embarassed as the original poster was).
Thanks for giving me a red., If you respond saying that you will enter my site in dmoz for money, Even i will pay for that., There is nothing wrong in that. Anyone would pm you if you post like that. There is no seperate rules in this Forum requesting any of the members to "Not to post any Thread like asking for an Inclusion Request for money" So he has obeyed the rules of this forum. If he has posted the same in "Resource-zone.org" you could have made fun of him like that. You should get an infraction for this., What you have done is WRONG!
You are part of the problem then. Also, I will say this just one final time. I posted in response to his inital post stating he wanted to BRIBE AN EDITOR. Yes, there are no rules in the FAQ stating to use common sense. It is just assumed everyone would naturally use it.
Every webmaster is a problem then., Even dmoz editors were corrupt which was the reason for stopping the inclusion requeests section in the resource-zone.org
