If it's ask for a paid submission, that's one of the best ways to get a competing site banned permanently...

If its for another reason, you will likely have better luck just asking in public.

Its to ask how I best optimise a site for submission, I have a client that id adamant that he wants his site in DMOZ... Hes even willing to pay me a lot of money to research best methods and make sure he gets in... So yeah I am looking for to get my clients site in there, but on its own merit! ;)

You have an equal chance with the following two suggestions...

    SUBMIT & FORGET
    FORGET 2 SUBMIT

They may give you other suggestions, but honestly, those are the ONLY two.

Even the best sites submitted can sit in the queue for years with no one checking, and even the worst of sites can be found & added through means other then the suggestion pool.

    So good luck!

However, following the 'editor guidelines' which can be found on the site, and by reading the category descriptions can both really help, as supposedly that is what they follow.

Step 1. Visit the category where you think it should be listed and suggest it.
Step 2. There is no step 2. There is nothing you can do to expedite processing and anything that you try can be counter-productive.

Do not work for any client in DMOZ. It is against DMOZ policy.

Read DMOZ submission Policy before you shout for SEO.

Yeah it says no one should have to pay to get into DMOZ... No one is paying to get in, someone is paying for my time to get it in. There's a difference ;)

What are you on about? I don't think you even understand what I replied with...

My client pays me to do SEO and any other service he wants, he tells me what he wants my time spent on, so if he asks for me to apply for DMOZ then I will do it...

So he pays me £XX per hour to do whats on the list, he pays me for my time not getting into DMOZ... DMOZ is one of over 100 different things... I really hate when people dont take time to understand!

    Just all.

Forums are to gain knowledge. But you seem here to gain your business profit. :D

Read DMOZ submission Policy first. Then comment on others.

    Are you drunk?

Forums are to gain knowledge? Looks like your just here to troll, having read all your other posts...

Go away you troll and learn to understand simple English.

BTW: I am here for a reason, I work on SEO and I want my clients to get as much as possible from me as a service so yes I am here for to make a profit. I wouldn't spend hours doing something for free when I can get paid £10,000 per month to do it...

Abuse? Coming from the person that said:
Quick Tip: Treat people the way you want to be treated, if you troll the forums then people will fight back. No one likes a TROLL.

Anyway DMOZ was taken off the list yesterday as I convinced the client that DMOZ is nothing compared to everything else thats happening with his company.

Why not have an editor try submitting it for you? (yes, you CAN pay an editor to submit your site, just not list it)

A site usually can fit in multiple categories. Make sure to (also) submit in the category with the most recent activity.

Unless your site is owned by an editor, or is a rather prominent site on the net, it's best NOT to submit to multiple categories. They will claim you are a spammer and flag your site as such (possibly getting you banned). Which is VERY VERY strange that they feel that way seeings as they have editor owned sites that break about every rule there is yet still have thousands of deep links *boggle*
