How to promote a site for particular keyword

I need to know the best methods to promote (SEO) my site for particular keywords. Your suggestion is highly appreciated.

You need to work on backlinks for your targeted keywords and also use them in your content.

 

First question you need to ask yourself is can you make it to the first page with that keyword. Don't put your ladder on the wrong building ! If you think you can rank for that page then try this out first. Find a site on the first page and check it's backlinks. See which sites you can backlink from as well. In some cases it will be forum profiles and blog posts. You've done two things now. You know what your competition is doing plus you've piggybacked and got some more backlinks.

Now I'll ask you to do something counter intuitive. Link to a few authority sites in that given field. And keep the info fresh.

 

According to me you can rank any keyword. But you need to do everything right.
First research for good keywords, then go for on page optimization.
Register site for longer period and have a good hosting.
Then go for anchor text link building go for varied link building.
Create links not only for homepage but also for all main navigation as well as inner pages.
Link building should look completely natural to search engines. Also if you are needing results faster do this.
First month go for 400 backlinks then. each month add a 20% cumulative link building process these will make a natural look.
So your pace of building links will also increase and links as well.

Try to achieve at least pr3 as well. some say pr is not counted but believe me dude i have tested it you should have atleast pr3 to defeat a pr5 or p6 most probably.

Use the keyword as the anchor text while building back links

 

Build backlinks using different methods like forum posting, articles and blog posting but make sure you always use your keyword as the anchor text.

 

Make sure you build links with the keyword you want to target in the anchor text of the link. This can be done by posting on blogs and forums

If you want to promote a particular keyword, you should target its landing page (or page containing that keyword). Do all seo activities for that page like social bookmarking, deeplink submission, article submission, blog posting etc, and definitely your keyword will be promoted in this regard..

yeah anchor text thingy helps alot. i also did that and result started showing for first page in a month.

 

Try to get natural back links for that particular keyword through article submission, press-release, blog posting, socual bookmarking, forum posting etc.
