One of the greatest adsense tips I`ve ever learned was to put the adsense code just below the image, or next to the image. That way visitors will think that the links are related to the image and are more likely to click on them. Think of it as an "image description". Make sure the images are at least theme related to the adsense links- just to avoid the consusion. Your visitor would be confused if she saw a picture of granny, and right below a link about "drug rehab". NOTE: some of the adsense users are reporting that Google was sending them warnings not to put adsense next to the images. However, this issue relates to users who are pointing to the adsense with those images (like flashy arrows etc). READ MORE AT: www.adsense4sure.blogspot.com
An icon to the left of an ad really draws your attention to it. I don't know if it's deceit though. I've wondered. I think YPN doesn't allow it.
Explanation: People were useing a script, when the user would go to click on an image, the script would move the users cursor in front of the AdSense ad.
if you are going to put images next to the ads... put a visible bar or border inbetween them and then ask google adsense to review your site and ask them if the images breaks the TOS.
Are your looking for an AdSense trick or AdSense banning? Google seems to be particularly inspired kicking of publishers.
Don't listen to this noob unless you want to get banned. Related images he says... when do we get a  emoticon on this fourm?
I think just keep your site neat and clean of all these tricky adsense tricks. Just work on getting more traffic, to earn fair clicks. Tricking the user wouldn't help much, as the user might not come back to your site ever again.
Google says: Images above or next to their Google ads: We are unable to provide a blanket answer, it depends on the circumstances of each implementation. In some instances, images may be placed above or next to the ads without any harm. There is also the possibility of attributing "undue attention" to the ads if the images placed above or beside the ads are misleading or seem to be directly associated with the advertisers. Drawing undue attention to the ads is in violation of our program policies. If you choose to experiment with placing images directly above or beside the ads, we would strongly encourage you to maintain a visible border around the ad units to reduce the possibility of confusing the users.
I've seen some really bad violations of images and adsense placement. The closest I come to mixing stuff up is www.freeonlinegamearcade.com. There is enough separation between the images and the ads not to warrant a problem I hope. BTW my best score on Burger Time is 14k, nyah nyah Hexed
Perfectly allowed as long as you put a thin line of a visible color between the picture(s) and the ads. And I think it 'enhances' the ads too.
