$6000 within 4 months from Amazon affiliates store

Just finished my amazon affiliates store on my PR3 domain name 3 days ago.

Wow, those must have been some good tips, my Amazon earnings were barely enough to buy a bag of peanuts.

What does PR have to do with anything?
PR means nothing!

 

I wish you good luck, but Amazon is not a great affiliate money maker nowadays.

 

I was thinking that too I have some pr-0 sites making 100+$ a day

 

My PR6 makes nothing and a PR2 makes $50-75 a day.

 

You can pour your bag of peanuts into my bag of peanuts and we'll have one full bag of peanuts thanks to Amazon commissions.

I agree 100%. I don't have any sites above a PR3.

 

I can shed some light as to what PR has to do with it.

In my opinion the higher the PR the DEEPER you will get INDEXED.
Meaning if you have a lot of pages, you will get more visitors.

If your pages are already indexed then PR doesn't matter all that much.

 

I disagree. I have a PR1 site that has more pages indexed than one of my PR3 sites.

 

My experience confirms that higher PR means deeper indexing. Of course, there are ways to remedy that - for example you can make sure that most content is linked from first or second page. Also, I imagine that Sitemap might help with that, I am trying it out now.

 

Sitemap did not help for me since an Amazon store can easily have millions of pages...

 

Keep us updated. I would really be interested to see if you hit your goal. I've not even seen that much out of Amazon in a year on a single store. Good luck!

 

I've had very poor success with Amazon books. I hand-pick the books myself mostly as a service to my site visitors. The pictures of the book covers make good decoration on my pages, too.

And my sites have loads of traffic...

All in all, I make less than $150/year.

Yet, I continue adding links to books because they contribute to making some of my pages more useful and attractive.

 

Then stop complaining you're making more then me! And all I make just goes back to Amazon through gift certificates and I end up paying extra for all other stuff I wanted to buy.

Yep, they look really nice especially on my pages which are text heavy.

I'm no Internet millionaire, but I am a professional programmer, and I have some free advice for you. Working the Internet without computer programs is like working almost any career without a driver's license: If you're the best of the best, someone else will always provide transportation for you, but otherwise, the guy who drives will probably eat your lunch.

This is not to say that you need to write programs yourself. You can buy them, beg for them, or steal them. But if you're trying to make a buck with your own two typing hands, you're at a big disadvantage.

I can say from personal experience that most programmers have zero business savvy and would profit from trading their expertise for yours.

I tried to create a sitemap once for an AOM site using GSite (I think). Foolishly left it running, when I came back it was about 10 meg.
