    Hey all,

    See this thread:-
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=1282974

A scammer came to DP. He IMed me that i am intrested in buying this domain, and said Push domains in advance, and i did so. When the domain successfully pushed to him, he blocked my msn id. So i tried my other msn id, and added him and told him to sent the payment, he said "I will never send you the payment. And lets see what you can do". I emailed the DomainRegistrar, when i get reply from them i will post here what they say me!!

    Thanks

The guy has 8 posts and registered a few minutes before buying it, why would you give him the domain before payment

For domains it's probably best that you get paid FIRST. THEN move the domain. Heck, he only had a measly eight posts!!!!

Edit: Ack...da wacko got beat!!!! :D

There's a difference between him being a scammer and you being sucked in. I too find it quite silly you sent a total n00b a freebie. What happened to 'pay first, then get'? Do you pay your supermarket after the fact? Do you pay your train ticket after you arrived?

Nevermind, I enjoyed the very slight challenge (He had a whois guard on all his domains except one that I found a reference to buried in that forum)

Seems to match up with the MSN name

Why in gods name did you trust a stranger that had been a member here for less then 5 minutes???

No, they won't. You gave away your domain, pretty much. Nothing they will do about.

Lol, I predict this is a young lad (Does the additional name in the whois indicate he is a minor?)

I think him crapping his pants from a phone call might be worth the $40

By the way, be careful. There is always a *very slim* possibilty that he sold the domain recently to someone in the same country with the same first name. Im not saying its likely but I don't want to be responsible if you take things too far. A phone call should verify it.

Like I said, you got a $40 lesson. Don't trust people blindly you don't know...Thats business;)

I don't think you actually mean harm but I would try to get as much info as possible then let him know you have the info and are going to persue it legally (ie don't threaten the guy) unless he either pays or returns the domain.

Cross border litigation for sums of a few dollars are a waste of time. Name and shame is about as much as you can do but you don't want to get done for libel either.

    I'd get on with life.

I think you should just move on. The domain isn't really that good anyways.
