And how much can you personally guarantee the new owner will make? Or is it just that you are hoping it will be a large amount? How about a cash flow projection at least?

So? If you're suggesting there's a connection between the size of the market and your site's earnings - show us where that connection is.

I'm not saying there are not things that you can charge for. Bung charges on anything you want. Who's going to pay those charges? Lots of people? How many exactly? Says who? See, it's just your personal opinion so far. Will the site make enough to cover the cost + promotion (almost $100K)? Nobody knows unless you show us.

I'll repeat that it's a great idea. But if you were so confident of its success why didn't you run it for a few months, prove it makes a profit and then put it up for sale? I like the idea, I'd like to own the programming, but I need convincing A) That it will work and I have a route to maintaining, modifying, and improving the code and B) That it is likely to recover my $100K in the first year or two.

You haven't taken up my earlier challenge to get the money paid into escrow. To keep the original programmers aboard I PMed you asking if you'd be interested in a partnership arrangement ... but you haven't replied to that either. So, if I had $100K burning a hole in my pocket (and I do - as you may guess from my previous threads) I'd be less than excited at this project of yours.

That's got to be one of the stupidest questions I've ever heard in a site for sale thread. Anyone, anywhere, ever, who gives you a guarantee on what the new owner of a site will make, is someone you should stay away from.

A sure sign of stupidity is the inability to recognise a rhetorical question.

    That IS funny! :)

UberJew, why don't you have a look at some of the stuff he sold recently to see how much of money he may or may not have ;)

He asked some legitimate questions so are you going to answer them or not?

Big difference between "sold" and brokered. UberJew isn't taking him seriously because he doesn't appear to be a serious buyer. In fact, it reminds me a lot of someone recently banned from Sitepoint for being a pest.

Will be adding a cookie setting shortly that will remember your last viewed position, as well as remembering your settings, like for example if you dont want to see any listings with the word myspace, arcade or proxy in the title or subject, it will automatically filter those results out for you.
ALso, I will be adding a notifier and members area will you can have "favorite" threads and the likes.
I just wish I had a investor of sorts, since nobody seems to want to buy it :p

Peter, I don't know if you are new to site buying/selling or if you are just a weasly little troll.

Assuming the former let me point out

    1. People don't need to prove income to enter a thread. Could you prove $50K in cash? ;)
    2. If someone acts as a broker sometimes it doesn't mean he doesn't have funds to buy a site on his own. Merkersarl has deep pockets and it's a shame UberJew didn't gel with him.
    3. If you aren't interested in buying the site then you aren't doing the seller any favours by using his thread to chat. Compliments are all very nice but he's here to do a job - selling his site - and you've successfully taken the thread off-course.

If Peter is not looking to buy this (why not?) then I'd advise you to hold it for a bit. This type of site has most value once it has developed some momentum. Good luck with that.

Thanks, But at this point I might end up keeping it. It would have been nice for a big sale, but I do have a offer for some angel investment.
