    Everyone knows SE god Google.
if we only talk about Search Results, google gives you RELEVANT results ? yahoo gives that too. i think ppl like google more since it is clean.

now my question is that what are you looking for in a search engine. like what will make you migrate from google to a new search engine.

what do you think will be a new feature to make ppl goto the new search engine ??

Well, I would think Google has the magic formula so what I think what would make people migrate would have to be Google Plus +.

Every minute thousands of browsers open up to the plain page but powerful search of Google.com. Just imagine if all those people could interact with each other right on Google's Main page through a chat box?

And what if there was a daily video on Google's home page too? It would make the Google home page more exciting and interactive. Advertisers could post their links right in the Google chat box for free thus leveling the playing field for all webmasters.

And in all modesty, that is exactly what I'm trying to do with my custom Google & Bing search engine. 3rd link in my sig.

The reason why Google ticks is because of its wholesome web package that's always one step ahead than everyone else.

Thanks. I would love your color suggestions too and set up a thread:

What are you looking for in a search engine?

fyi: The search website you linked to in the chat is loading slow for some reason and hung up my browser for a bit. Not good news but something that you should know so you can tweak your page better. Other than that looks like a handy search.

    That's impossible for me..
I haven't seen any reason to switch to another search engine
cos I am very happy with Google.

Before Google, you must have been using some other Search.

The Points i think which made you migrate to Google :
    1. Relevant Search Results
    2. Different Type Of Wildcards
    3. Easy/Simple Design ie. not cluttered at all.

.....And What Else, Maybe i am missing something.

If your hoping to make a search engine, you better take a lot more time to thin k it out. Bing is new and loads of SEs exist.

Yes, I remember when I first got the internet and Google wasn't the most dominant search engine.

My two favorites back then were Dogpile and Google. But I was attracted to Google's because it gave much more results. I told my Dad that this was going to be the dominant search engine some day.

    What are "wildcards"?

    Wild Cards Are like

You can search for Numbers Between a Range from google.

Eg, Looking for sites containing number between 1000-9000 then use 1000..9000
and Like Looking for Back links then link:domain.com
and All other Common ones like +, -, * etc

I generally use Google for everything but I'm now leaning towards Bing for image searches. I like their format and the "size, layout, color, style" options.

Everyone of us has it's own likeness when it comes to search engine and it's function. But for people who always wants to earn online, they still prefer to use google.
