No the price should still be $19.95 and will be fixed before it is ready. But even $30 is extremely cheap with a 50% hike. If you ask me over a $100 wouldnt be too much since doing 2 manual submissions would cost you that much alone. Anyways the price remains the same when launched, which is soon.
The more natural the time frame for directory submissions, the more effective they'll be for gaining good positioning on sites like Google. Launch to hundreds of directories all at once is no where near as effective as having your new site appear gradually in directories at the rate of 10 or so per day. The more "organic" in appearance, the better the SERPS will be. One thing that would make this service FAR more powerful (and attractive) would be the ability to tell it to automatically launch a domain to a certain number of directories each day until it had gone through all on the list. (i.e. 5 a day, 10 a day, 15 a day, etc). Could this feature be added in the near future? I think it would markedly increase everyone's results! Let us know! This software appears to have great possiblities!
Its a good point and you are correct. But that only applies to HUGE number of links at once. This is far from that number. Also at 265 submissions in one day you will be very lucky to get 5 approved a day. Even though they are submitted the same day they will never all be approved that quick so it does work itself out that way.
Thank you for the quick reply and for considering this as you obviously have put considerable care in designing a software to truly benefit people. In the PAST, it did take huge numbers of submissions to trigger attention but that is starting to change. More and more, Google (and other major search engines) are taking into consideration what can be accomplished in human time figures. While hand submitting to hundreds of directories in a single day MAY be possible, it's highly improbable and the search engines know this. It's a tip-off that automation is being used and I believe more and more we'll see people penalized for this. You make a good point that a much smaller number of submissions will be likely approved on a daily basis (definitely a good thing)! However, some of us feel a more conservative approach would be to limit one's submissions to around 40 to 50 directories per day. This is far more likely to be viewed by the SE's as natural human initiated activity. Your database presently submits to 256 directories and perhaps this will even be growing? You might consider (if it's technically feasable) adding a simple option to stagger the submissions in some way. Even if we had to go in each day and manually initiate the next 50, it'd be nice to have that option (along with some kind of indicator of which ones had already been submitted to for that domain (assuming totally automating the staggering process is not feasible). I realize this may be easier said than done but I think if it's possible, it'd go a long way to preserving the effectiveness of the system and ensuring maximum results for your customers (even if your directory list continues to expand). Thank you for your willingness to entertain suggestions and feedback.. and for making such a unique offering to our community!
Thanks again for the suggestion. I will consider this also. Also I have used 10+ manual directory submission people around the web now and with the auto form filler these people fly also. I have seen most of the manual submissions done in 1 days time easy now also. So its not really much faster than doing it manually. I highly doubt you can get penalized for this in anyway. I have used digitalpoints co-op and recieved 100s of links a day and didnt get penalized. The number of links you would get with directory submissions is very close to normal and natural. Also yes the list will be growing rapidly once we implement an easy to use admin function to add/test new directories.
Lazy SEO, I clicked on your "directory submission software" link and got the following message: Order Form Warning: main(../lib/config.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/lazyseo/public_html/index.php on line 38 Fatal error: main(): Failed opening required '../lib/config.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/lazyseo/public_html/index.php on line 38 Is this just an isolated problem? Regards Bruce
I just clicked it and was fine. Try this link and if it doesnt work PM me. http://www.lazyseo.com/registration/ But dont sign up yet though. One last thing to be added this morning and then it will be ready.
Darksky At the moment you can acually select 50 directories and sumbit only to these directories. And then the next day you can manually select another 50 etc. I have been selecting all directories for my less important sites and selecting row 1 the first day and row two the second day for my more import sites, just in case. I believe LazySEO commented on this in another thread. A week ago.
Quick question to Lazy/Aaron getting directories accepted into the scheme (list call it whatever ) I have an esyndicat directory that I have set up. I populated it using the category structure supplied from the site. But have a quick question. If I alter the structure (well not alter it, rather add to it) will this negate the ability to be part of the setup? (assuming the directory was accepted of course)! To make myself clear, what I am saying is that ALL of the categories and sub categories from the sql query from your site are still there, but there will also be other categories and sub categories as well. I would think that the software would still work fine, and if there is a better category for it, then I would be happy to move it. Can you please answer this question for me (and others) who most likely will be suggesting their sites be included in the submission list.
If you use that category dump that I made then when someone submits they will go to those categories. If you add more categories it will work just fine but you just wont be getting submissions to them. Unless we map the categories different for that site. If you want it included just PM me the URL and it will be added during the first update.
The doors are open and you can register and start submitting away. Check out the official thread here. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=105057
My evaluation of the web based tool I wrote this up and then tried to post it and it took so long I logged out and lost it so here goes again. I have used the web based tool for the past few days and must say its a ver nice piece of software. I have submitted 7 sites total with 2 this evening. The first five were over 50% acceptance easily. I quit counting the emails but there were LOTS of link accepted emails. It appears that hand mapping the categories sits well with the directory owners as many accepted me in the first 24 hours. The directories are all quality sites and should definitely help your link strategy. I think you should be careful not to allow spammers to take over your tool though. Its seems easy for some fools to spam these directories with garbage sites and eventually the directory owners will shut you out. You may consider posting some guidelines such as not submitting your site every day and other things. Don't assume everyone knows not to do that. Call me paranoid but anything automated makes me nervous. My problem is I have to start shaving some time. I really like the idea of posting to a queue that we can schedule every so many days or whatever. Listing your site in 300 directories in one day is not natural and can be seen by goog. By creating profiles and letting the server post them in time delay as a background service you make it more natural and allow your server to manage the load its under. Also call me paranoid if you msut but I don't think you should publish your list for the the search engines to see. It makes it far to easy to disregard every site in your service. Don't belive goog doesn't watch for auto submitters I only have one real problem with the system. The site bogs out when submitting to more than 30 sites at once. Its kinda semi automated right now. Its WAY easier and I am not complaining but it will truly be a great service if you can work on the timeouts and Bad Server Response. Another possibility is to stage the script so that you can select all the sites to submit to at once but have it actually submit them in a queue with a break every 20 sites or something. This way I can "Set it and forget it" and it submits to all 300 dirs without timing out. Is this on a shared server or a dedicated box? How many users have you had run the script at once? All in all I think its a sweet tool and for $20 a month I am here to stay. Keep adding features and fix the timeout issues and you should do very well.
Just to add thats what I received on my own sites. 50% or high acceptance. Yes tring very hard and I am checking everyday for people spamming sites. I did have it removed but I recently added it back in. Im thinking over removing the directory list for good though for the same reason you mentioned. The script is on a dedicated server and has plenty of resources to handle the job. The deal is we are in the process of switching to a better back end system. Once that is in place you will hit submit then get an email when its done. Also your account will give you stats when its completed. This is our goal to work on this to get it where there will be no time outs. I appreciate your comments and I am glad you like the product and recommending it.
woow looks like you guys trying to build great tool... i have some more dir to submit.. if you want to , pm me so u can add to your tool list...
Just in case some of you are interested, heres my link pop for one of my newer sites. I think I used this software on the 30th of June (cant be bothered to check although I wrote it down)...
Some nice stats there. I am also going to track my submissions for a site I submitted yesterday. The only hard part for me is to restrain from further link building. But I am going to give it 2 weeks and see how many backlinks I have INDEXED. Since being recognized by the search engine is the ultimate goal. I am guessing I will have 50 indexed linkes in 2 weeks and for $20 you cant beat that. Then you get to do as many sites as you want!
