I'd say stick with XP, that's what I've been doing. If you really want to try Windows 7, wait for a few months after it comes out until they work out most of the bugs, then buy it. Word of advice, though, just look at what happened to Vista. It took them months to get some things working that used to work in XP out of the box, ie. lots of compatibility issues. I still have some programs that work in XP but not in Vista.
Windows 7 still needs more than 512 MB of RAM and graphics card , for full functionalities .I can browse internet , Play games and here music with Windows XP . As a Genuine Windows customer , I won't upgrade to Windows 7 , if there is something important .
Possibly both? If you want to make a partition and all, but if you just want one solid OS, then XP, because 7 is still in a beta build.
I tried 7 & is excellent no problems. similar http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1154577 discussion we had. But I am bit confuse as why do you want to install XP now? I presume you have some OS running already.. *& it got to be XP.. Why do you want to install six/seven year old operating system? 7 is still in beta & will take months to come in market... I'd go for ubuntu for time being & then would purchase windows 7
Like most people said, 7 is beta and I'm no beta tester. Just hope 7 isn't a scaled down version of Vista
Ive got windows 7 installed and have done for the last month or so and im quite suprised with it, there are some good features especially the new tabbed layout. I prefer it to xp and to vista!! But its personal preference.
Even the relatively early 7032, 7044 and now 7048 beta releases of Windows 7 spank XP in every area. speed, looks, compatibility and function. I am not going back!
7 is sexy and faster than xp. but there's some problems to it since it still in beta. it will beat all other os when they fix everything.
