    You can buy .us domain. It does not have any geo-restriction. You need to take care of one thing that .us domains must have DNS servers in USA.

    .us domains are strictly regulated by domain name registrars and federal authorities. perhaps you can buy it if you ask someone in the US to buy it for you.

    If you buy at godaddy, you can register easily. But eventually you will be caught and they will take your domain away.

    If you go with any other registrar they will not let you purchase a dot us domain if you are not in the US.

    Registry says that you have to be US entity if you want to own .us domain name. They also say that they constantly check WHOIS contact information to check whether the owner is belonging to USA or not.

    I have 2 .us domains since 1 and half year with I am being Indian and my address there. They did not do anything yet.

    I am not suggesting anyone to buy .us domain. I am just saying that buying .us in general never brings problems. I have been in hosting industry since last 2 years now. I did not hear such case of rejecting .us names.
