I don't live in the USA and I am not a US citizen so I was wondering if it would be possible for me to have a .us domain?

yes surely, just go to godaddy dot com and register us domain.but be aware, they are always round about $14 and up, too expensive then normal com domains.try to find godaddy coups so you can save a bit.

Grow up? You clearly live in the wrong country buddy, you are not allowed to own a dot us domain name.

You can register it at godaddy, but once your site is found by nic.us they will cancel your domain name as it is clearly breaking their TOS. And you will be left with NO domain name.

I have a .us domain registered for 5 months now, though I live in the Fiji islands. Maybe why the domain is not taken away is because most of my traffic is from US.

Yeah it's only a matter of time before they take your domain away. The rules are clearly stated and godaddy is violating them like usual.

Yeah, this is another example of Goddady's greed towards its own profits and not caring about its customers. They can at least provide a warning message before anyone attempts to register a .us domain outside of USA.

domainloco.net is right. I registered my .us domain when I had no prior knowledge about the restrictions. But now, I am prepared to loose that domain. Hope .us is opened to the global audience just like .me.

I'm not sure if you have even red question of poster, he is asking for buying or registering domain. Before you Hands UP us with your Authority on registering issue.. now when many people give here proof that non us can register domains..... You now changed to afterward results. You are really interesting one Mate :D

Be carefull and dont post domain name, we have one FBI authority here, whom Crow is White.

hehe, even's FBI's ass does not have jurisdiction over anything I do from Fiji Islands. But we have to understand what domainloco.net is saying. He/She is just pointing to us that what's the use of registering a domain when we sure gonna loose it. Its up to anyone to register any domains they want, but domainloco.net is also entitled to his/her opinion on why we should not. Interesting debate guys. Carry on. You have my attention, domainloco.net :)

Read the rules buddy, I guess you can't read much english in Peru but it's clearly stated in their TOS that they will suspend their services. In other words, they will take your domain.

I'm agree with you, but he is getting off from real question, read above... he is claiming no one from non-us even able to register us domains... and this is what i'm trying to tell him.

I'm laughing on your bogus knowledge now, keep read your rulings while people gonna register as above one did too. About my english, even you have your own nick half spanish, do you know what means by loco? i guess you choose perfect representation of your personality.

You can, but if you're reported or caught, you'll lose the domain.

    Sure you can buy one.
You can also cheat on your taxes.
But in both cases you run the risk of getting caught.

If you are not a us citizen then you can start a us based corporation to hold your domains for you. :D
I would say a C type corporation would be best in this case.
