Maybe not on the same page, but on different pages you definitely need different anchors for the same url, to get a good ranking
on your internal links you can have the same, and it's good tactics to do. But on external links you should not do it.
on external links you can have different anchors but you should have those links on different pages of same domain.
As far as I understood, using different anchors is good for adding urls in directories, right? I have almost the same questions, for example, anchor text 1 is "new cars", anchor text 2 is "buy new cars", anchor 3 is "best website to buy new cars", where "new cars" is a major keyword for a website page (url on the same location). Is it right? Please
Erzulie, thats right. If 20 sites are linking to your page and they all used the same 1-2 anchor then it would be pretty easy to see that the links arent natural. If you want to buy links mix them up a lot, and even throw in one or two with no anchor text - http://www.yourdomain.com
You can use 2 different anchor tags for same url but at the same place, it it not very good. In general practice, different anchors are used for same urls. but use at same place, it should be avoided.
It's good even for the same page. Looks far more natural. How could be possible that everyone links to your article with the exact same anchor text? It's a common sense, you don't need the Google's guidelines here
Vic_mackey Thanks a lot! I'm a newbie in seo, that's why I try to do all my best. This forum is really very-very-very helpful.
My question is asking about put 2 difference anchors text to ONE URL ON THIS PAGE is: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=742311 For example: I create my signature is: Anchor 1 | Anchor 2 That may help for me on SERPs for two keywords for ONE domain?
I haven't found that to be true personally. I use a fairly wide variety of anchor texts to my PR5 home page, and it ranks high for many keywords.
My dear you can use as many anchor text as possible for a single page or single url. Google will never have problem.
Well anchor texts do have a big impact for SEs and there's no problem in using several anchor texts.. it just that too much or frequently use of the target KWs in a single page with the same link is something unnatural imo that's what i'm pointing out
