I was just wondering what everyone made in March and which bracket you fall into exactly - I'm trying to see a bit of a spread of what people here at DP are earning.

I've seen this effect before, where income is either say < $400 or >than $1000. But I would expect a 'bell-curve' result. Why is it that everyone either earns a small amount or a large amount but rarely a middling amount?

Because everyone either does AdSence as a hobby and makes little, or does it full-time, with a team of helpers, and makes big bucks? Or because the big earners had well established sites before AdSense appeared?

What I am getting at, if I currently earn $150 per month, is it possible to slowly move towards $1500 per month (the poll suggests this doesn't usually happen), or will this happen as a sudden leap, or will it never happen, whatever I do?

Opps... I'll just fix that up.

As for why is there no one in the middle ground... well I'd imagine it is because once you realise that there is good money to be made in Adsense you put a lot more time into your websites and your Adsense earnings. I mean I ran my sites for 12 month with adsense on them and earnt between $25 - $50 then one quite October day I stumbled (and I do mean stumbled) across DP and saw a section dedicated to Adsense, over the next 3 months I increased my earnings by 2000%. Once you know HOW it is hard not to increase your earnings whenever you start a new site - and who is ever content with $xx, or $xxx or even $x,xxx a month... I bet once earning $xx,xxx a month you still wouldn't be content.

So there are lots of small number of people that have yet to learn the HOW and then there are the rest that I like to call the ADDICTED. That's my theory anyway.

Thanks for the faith in me - it's probably misplaced - but thanks none the less.

Can I ask how many sites are you running to get that sort of revenue a month?

Well that is such a failure I think you should give up now and not waste your time... pfft $2499.87... pathetic!

    ;)

There is nothing like coming just short of your goals - its a really good thing to do. Goals should always be something just out of reach but not out of sight - they are meant to be something to aim for - not necessarily achieve. Keep up the good work!

This is very inspiring, thanks. I keep hearing about all these guys making a living online .... with their dozens and dozens of sites. I have 5 sites at the moment and my aim is to turn these sites into "mega-sites", i.e. the best (or fairly good) resources in their respective fields and I can not see myself ever working with 100 sites. So, it's good to see someone who's make a grand per site. :)

I definitely believe that you have chosen the right approach.

I believe that the optimum number of sites is between 3 and 6.

I intend to sell some of my web sites, to focus more strongly on the remaining sites.
