Try reading the sites of a few of the alternatives listed in this thread:

They may be able to do that

A technique that works great is to create a very good email newsletter that is packed with solid advice. Each newsletter will be hosted on an html page. On this html page, you will include your Adsense ads, as well as the actual lesson itself.

You'll find that as your email list gets bigger, your adsense income will also rise. It's very powerful and not used very often.

    Ooooh, good one.

I could use it to host newsletter archives. The only thing is, I have users sign up on my newsletter using the hook that it will have non-blog content and only subscribers get it. I'd have to somehow allow only subscribers in, how would you do that?

assign each subscriber a username and password, and place it in your .htaccess? Even if you give them all the same username/password, it will keep out 95% of outside traffic...

Or, make a login for your site which sets a cookie, and only allow cookie bearing browsers into the page

You may want to be careful with that. You could lose your AdSense account if you go that route.

No, you can not use adsense on an email.
But you can send out an email about your newsletter.
And that newsletter, if online, can have adsense.
I see a lot of publishers send out the newsletter via email with no adsense, but then send out another email to read the newsletter online, and then the newsletter there will have adsense.
Be carefule in your email and in your newsletter, that you do not say anything like "click on our sponsors to keep this newsletter free" or anything that can be construed by google as asking/telling/forcing people to click on ads.
